  1. The ab kidney and butt are all attached. I disconnect the chest and put it in front and on top of the ab and the back sits inside the kidney.
  2. I pack the shins in the torso, arms in the thighs, shoes blaster and helmet in the open spot. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

  5. Finally back at it with a few updates. Getting ready for my very first troop in mid June for Star Wars night at the Waterloo Bucks baseball game. Added two fans and am powering with two 3000 ma power packs. Have been running them for 5 hours uninterrupted and no heat buildup. I could have gotten away with just one power pack but I like a large margin of error when I have Lithium Ion batteries next to my face. It was definitely fun to break out the old soldering iron again to solder the USB cables to the fan wires. It's been to long since I've done an electronics project. Should stay as cool as I can for the troop. Next I got to work on some of the items pointed out to fix in my EIB application. First shortened the three straps from my kidney to but plate. I took about a 1/4" out did a double over piece of elastic this time to make it a bit firmer. Sits a ton better now then it did. Got a pair of Nomex Flight gloves and some new hand guards from Joseph. I'm thinking these will be much more comfortable then wearing rubber gloves in the summer heat. Added a passport travel pouch to the back plate to carry anything small like keys, phone etc. while trooping. And finally worked on leveling out the belt. It appeared that I had the right side a bit out of position so had to drill out the original snap..... As I've seen others do I screwed up and took a big chunk of plastic out of the ab piece... Thankfully I've learned enough from working on this armor and from tons of others who have gone through the same thing as me I did a quick ABS patch and filled in with ABS paste. and the finished straightened belt. I've made a note to self not to get cocky and think that I know what I'm doing ..... Need to take my time and think to avoid these types of screw ups. Few items left to do prior to Centurion application. Still need to work on bringing in the shoulder bells and quite a few helmet mods (screws, hovi screens, clean up the end tooth painting on the frown.) May not get done before my first troop but it felt good to make some more progress today.
  6. Congrats and welcome to EIB! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  7. Got one more thing done off the list. Installed my Icomm and Aker amp. Sounds pretty good. Also got a couple lipstick USB chargers to run some 5V DC fans that I just received. Hopefully I'll find some time in the next week or so to get them wired up and installed in my bucket. Probably OK that I haven't had my first troop yet as I still have a fair amount of work to get ready. Between school and traveling for work it's been tough to finish off the last few items on my list. More to come.......
  8. Thanks Tony! When I'm back in the states I'll take a look at getting the fixes taken care of. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  9. Thanks for the feedback. Definitely shoulders need to get moved in a bit further. Hopefully OK for EIB and fix before Centurion. [emoji1] Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

  17. So I'm wondering if the mattress pad might yellow the armor over time. Anyone have any experience with that? Should I cover the mattress pad with fabric?
  18. Speaking of additional work I completed one more project for the weekend. Got a Husky Job Box. Used a twin bed mattress pad to line the sides and bottom and leftover foam to line the top (attached to the box with industrial strength Velcro. Had some old bed sheets that I cut up to keep parts from rubbing on each other. I didn't get fancy and make bags for each piece just simply wrapped the cut up sheets around the parts. I was able to fit everything in the box except for my helmet. I'm thinking I could get the helmet in there with some fancy packing but will probably just carry it in a separate helmet bag.
  19. Feels good to near the end doesn't it! Although I'm sure the tweaking will never stop......
  20. Thank you sir! Felt like a kid taking the pictures.
