  1. I would say the consensus of the members over at MEPD would love for someone to do a SE Sandtrooper. If i had the spare cash I would totally do it! There are some that are very....opinionated, at times in the MEPD. That is a minority. The demographic of the MEPD is changing, while we love to strive for accuracy lots of the newer members and older veterans would love to see the MEPD come back to life and to expand out our CRLs. We take pride in accuracy, and we love the history behind the ANH Sandtrooper. These comments are from years ago. I would be thrilled if the HWT was in the MEPD, I wish i was around back then to voice my opinion, but it is what it is. As part of the MEPD staff we just want to revitalize the detachment, get people excited about building packs and BFGs, we are still finding all sorts of new things about these 40 year old costumes and accessories. If you haven't been over there recently take a look at all the new stuff we are finding and get to know some of the newer members. We love talking about this stuff. Now back to digging through eBay for vintage seed trays for my pack.
  2. I can help out design wise. If someone else can handle the code I can design the elements. Most of my experience is in theme park graphic design, and my strengths are in vector design more so than raster. But feel free to check out my website. I am happy to help out! http://henselmonster.com
  3. Since Tokyo Disneyland is not technically operated by Disney they will probably keep selling them for a while. Tokyo sometimes shares merch or pick up products from the other Disney operated parks (WDW, DLR, DLP, SDL)
  4. Still waiting on the band saw, if not, I will just get creative with my jigsaw and make it work. For now I am trying to decide if I want to go with the authentic engraving (with the added TD# serial) TOP or If i want to go with something that is more in Universe with Star Wars. BOTTOM Leaning toward the authentic one....
  5. Doing minor accuracy upgrades to the deck/receiver. Its not perfect but its a little closer. I removed the bolts near the top and bottom, replaced them with smaller knurled screws. I also updated the detail near the center (sorry for not know what any of the proper names are). I modeled it in tinkercad and printed it out on my 3d printer. I still have some details to add. Next up I need to find someone with a band saw so I can reduce the thickness of the deck/receiver. After that, hopefully, laser engraving.
  6. Cross post from MEPD I have had my HFX T-21 for a while and I have been wanting to make some upgrades to it just for a cleaner look and better accuracy. Since the blaster itself is a straight copy of the original Lewis gun, it is pretty close, but since mine is a B-grade cast I want to replace the top deck/receiver/whatever it is called. Luckily our very own spOOL68 made some excellent resin parts that I can use to make these upgrades. First up is an upgrade I did a while back, which is some internal details in the barrel. I made a thread on this development a while back, this is how it turned out. I just 3D printed it at home and painted and weathered. Next up is the deck. I got this idea from justjoseph63 just who had made the same upgrade. Here is the existing desk, this was a b-grade cast and the deck was not holding up in the mold, so it doesn't looks great. Here is the great resin version by spOOL68 Now the plan is to make some accuracy upgrades to this, maybe laser engrave the lewis gun information on it like the actual gun (or create "in universe" T-21 info which may be fun) There is great reference on the Lewis gun so making these upgrades will be relatively painless, hopefully. I will add more updates as I work on this.
  7. I have AM 2.0 shoulder bells, ATA belt and Anovos for the rest. I am a sand trooper so I'm pretty weathered and you cannot tell at all
  8. For basic approval, yes. Also for EIB, not sure about Centurion.
  9. Looks like this armor is from Taiwan, the FO TK Is from Thailand
  10. Bummer. Was looking forward to a more affordable ABS FOTK. One day hopefully! Looking at this compared to the FN Armor and Anovos is looks a little more similar to Anovos, but I am no expert in this.
  11. Is it? $600 would be pretty nice price then. The FN Armor is sold for $900 on their Facebook page.
  12. In the listing it says it is fan made. Looks pretty similar to Anovos though. I can't tell. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Star-Wars-TFA-FN-Stormtrooper-Costume-Armor-kit-Prop-/222109492753?
  13. Yes! Can't wait. Will be following intently
  14. I wanted to upgrade the barrel of my T-21, since the inside is just a .75" shallow hole in the front. I based it on how the Lewis actually looks, but obviously had to modify the look a bit to fit such a small space. Modeled it in tinkercad, printed it, painted it, and weathered it. I'm actually kinda happy with how it turned out. If you want to print one for yourself here is the 3D file. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3zVdDrBd3_6Y2pqT2FHTkRrRlE/view?usp=sharing
  15. Possible Sandtrooper shots? HWT maybe? Got the TK sniper knee and buttons.
  16. I disagree. I think they just look some liberties with the armor. All the classic TKs are different in each movie, so why not this one too. I don't see it as half assed or a problem at all, just a new CRL! I'm mostly excited for the Death Troopers and those scout looking ones!
  17. TD-11787 requesting 501st access http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=20961
  18. Is anyone else going to do the Star Wars cruise on March 19th?
  19. I am working to start making my own latex hand guards and I was going to start the sculpt using a mix of foam board and bondo. I will have to vary the thickness of each level to get it right. I created these templates and wanted to get some feedback. Feel free to use them if you'd like. Not quite set on the sizing yet.
  20. not much rigidity, its still fairly flexible. I would imagine the cheesecloth would help with that. I don't mind its being flexible. The nice this about the plastidip was is sealing seams inside reducing any creaking noises of the helmet
  21. Ah I'd love to! I need some help with the thighs and shins, unfortunately I have to be somewhere else most of the day, hopefully I can swing by later! Thanks for the invite, I live right by Clermont.
  22. If you wind up selling a resin "kit" for some of the pieces, count me in! Looking great!
  23. I wonder if there is anymore over at MEPD who built one of these. Super interested.
