  1. Did some more work on the belt today. I like the look of off-white on the belt a bit more, but didn't realize I could have bought it off white. So instead of returning mine and getting another I just dyed my white one in some tea for a few minutes. I'm doing the rivet attachment like Tony did in his build for the dropboxes and was able to salvage the Anovos elastic. [emoji106] After I got everything apart I measured and marked the belt and dropbox elastic and drilled the dropboxes. Now after I get a hold of a snap setting tool and a leather punch I'll assemble the belt! \m/
  2. Just bought all of the electronics for an Arduino setup. As my E-11 is ESB, and because I'm a fan of simplicity, I'm only going for 2 sounds. The classic blaster and the Stun setting. No fancy reload or counter or laser sight. Simplicity FTW. Cut off the front sight and end cap on my aluminum pipe today as well. I marked and numbered the T-tracks on both the receiver and on the underside of the tracks so there won't be any confusion later. The plan is to cut up the Anovos supplied TD clips and use them as aluminum shims to bridge the steel parts to the aluminum receiver. Ill fill in whatever gaps are left using modelling putty or possibly even paintable silicone. For the trigger and handguard I'm going to try JB weld and possibly a couple screws if I can find a place for them. Once I get the electronics working I'll do a final assembly all at once. I still need to buy a Sterling magazine to cut up , as well as the ESB E-11 greeblies. Anyone know if anyone produces those? \m/
  3. Some shots of the Sterling parts after their surgery. I've got a few ideas on how to attach them to the aluminum pipe, but I'd love some input if anyone has any advice. \m/
  4. I was able to spend some time with Ukswrath yesterday and he helped me out with a few things including cutting up and grinding down a few of the Sterling parts. I'll post pics of that a bit later. Thanks a bunch Tony! First up is the TD. Done! The clips are ukswrath version 2 clips. Next up was working on replacing the belt with one from TKITTELL. Let me just say removing the rivets was very difficult. The potential of ruining the whole belt is high when doing this. As you can see two of the circles on the belt did not come off so easily. Anovos used something very similar to Devcon plastic weld to attach these to the belt so be very careful removing them! \m/
  5. Had a little bit today while the baby was sleeping to do an initial clean on the Sterling parts. It's a bummer because some of the parts still have portions of the steel receiver on them...I'm obviously going to need to remove those portions, but they need to be precise cuts...How is something like that done? Would a gunsmith be able to do that? Also, the parts still feel a bit "grimey"...almost tacky. I used a degrease to clean them but it obviously wasn't enough. Any recommendations? \m/
  6. Little trooper is pooping like a champ! [emoji106] \m/
  7. Hey, do you have a recommendation for stripping off all of the old grimy gunk? \m/
  8. Not sure...I'm going to take a better picture here in a few. \m/
  9. Having a baby has made me impulsive. Got my Sterling parts in from Apex gun parts. I'm pretty bummed about the condition of the folding stock...any tips on how to get it back to it's original shape? I have a welder friend who can assist me. Also, what's the best way to clean the parts/degrease them? \m/
  10. Just wanted to show you guys the helmet next to Jabba. [emoji38] \m/
  11. That's a fantastic idea. I already have a legion ID for my TB...TB-25415...can I have a second for my TK or do I need to use the same one? \m/
  12. Baby Trooper indeed! Thanks so much Walter!5 1/2 pounds of perfection. \m/
  13. Haha totally! I'm very excited to force him to fall in love with Star Wars. I've already got my wife on board so my poor kid has no choice! [emoji6] \m/
  14. So I was planning on doing another update on here soon, but my baby boy decided to try and come a bit earlier than his due date! Needless to say, I'll be a little preoccupied for a while. [emoji38] Wish me luck! \m/
  15. Hey Adam! Ya man, ESB all the way! They look so much more menacing!
  16. Oh man, for a second I thought you were telling me I needed to start over. Please stop giving me heart attacks Tony! Lol \m/
  17. Moved the S Trim around. I think I'm done now! I swear? Haha \m/
  18. I wanted to post a few more pics of how much I removed from the frown Also I was just alerted to the fact that I need to flip my s trim around so it closes under the vocoder. I'll be doing that ASAP \m/
  19. Alright! I reshaped the frown to the CRL standards, added in the padding, put the Hovi tips back on, and I can now say that the helmet is complete! Well, at least until I get all the electronics. Also, look what I got today: Phoenix Props ESB E-11 w/aluminum pipe ready to go! Thanks to a fellow Garrison member for this beauty. I'll be adding on a few real sterling parts a bit later as well! And just for fun, here is all the ESB stuff layed out Since I had my paints out I also went ahead and painted the Ab buttons. \m/
  20. Hey Steve! I thought I'd show you my finished helmet following your methods. It's an ESB, but the principles still apply! Thanks again for this thread! \m/
  21. It would be interesting in the future to do a full "MK2" build. Could make a really cool trooper! \m/
