  1. Anyone know if and when this is going to be in stock again? http://www.rspropmasters.com/product/accurate-assembly-bundle/
  2. Well this is the start... I have taken my first steps into a larger world... Score and snapped out my hand guards and am in the process of building my thermal detonator. Figured these were safe ones to start with. Pictures to follow. Please all the comments and help possible, Lord Vader knows I need it...
  3. Ok so I know this topic has been addressed, but I am having trouble locating the threads. I am one of the anovos group but at 6'4"ish and getting ready to start my build I am a bit nervous. Even just planning out my trims. I am not sure exactly how or if I should adjust my trimming for the height? Is the recommendation to just do the standard trim and then adjust with shims from there? Or are their certain parts that should be left longer? Any guidance, advice, or build threads to get me going in the right direction is appreciated!
  4. So their site says they are closed until January 2016? Is that correct? Edit: Now I am confused, when I first loaded up the site a pop-up said they were closed until January, but the news tab says they close on Nov 30th... So are they still taking orders?
  5. This may be something that has been discussed previously and everyone knows already but I have not found it referenced so I will go ahead and ask. According to this site: http://www.starwarshelmets.com/original-stormtrooper-helmets-sub-submenu.htm The only difference between a Stunt and a Hero was the helmet. The armor pieces used were interchanged and not specific to any one kit. Thus aside from Han and Luke there were "Hero" TKs used on troopers who were closer to the camera and needed to have a better looking helmet. So with that being said my question: Aside from the helmet why is there even a difference in the CRL for a Stunt vs a Hero?
  6. Makes me think this: http://www.rspropmasters.com/product/accurate-assembly-bundle/ Plus a trooper bay holster may not be a bad idea...
  7. Is this their contact email? Troopersupplies@hotmail.com
  8. So I apologize for the long post up front, this is sort of me wanting to lay things out for myself plus any feedback for those more experienced then myself (read everyone ). Also I think this is the correct location to post this but if not feel free to move. So I got in on the Anovos kit, and as far as I can tell it will be best suited to a Stunt build though I would love to do a hero if it is feasible. Now obviously the kit is not here yet so the armor build details will have to wait till that ships. In the meantime though I am trying to organize what I other items I am going to need/want to get so I can have as much ready as possible for when the armor arrives. Organized in order of precedence: Items for before the armor arrives: 1) Boots - Since this is the only thing needed to officially get approval I am prioritizing it first. TK and IB seem to be the go to options. Seems IB is more expensive but more available, TK cost a little less but may take a while to get shipped. That about right sounding? IB boots: $90 + $38 shipping = $128. TK boots: $80 + $22.50 shipping = $102.5 2) E-11 Blaster - This is not required for 501st approval but lets get real, what good is stormtrooper armor without a blaster? Many options for this with varying costs and time demands. I've narrowed down my options based on a price range ($150 or less) and time constraints (work + family = limited build time right now). Options I am looking at are below: http://diamondstateprops.com/e-11-anh/ --> $125, finished but unsure of what the final product looks like http://trooperbay.com/trooperbay-ee-leven-blaster-kit.html --> $135, requires assembly and painting HyperFirm Grade B --> ~$150?, Great quality and durability but cost more and have variable availability? Would love to do a toy conversion for lights and sounds, and the price is right, but just can't justify the time it will take Open to other options or ideas. Would like sooner rather than later: 3) http://www.rspropmasters.com/product/accurate-assembly-bundle/ - ~$150 US + shipping--> Now I am not sure if the Anovos kit will need this so I am holding off on getting it until I know more, but it seems like something that would be good to have if for no other reason than extra parts for modding to get to both certification standards and possibly getting EIB or Centurion out of the gate. 4) DLT-19 - Not required but something I want to add to my kit. Same limitations as listed for the E-11. Options I have found: http://diamondstateprops.com/dlt-19-rifle/ --> at $195 ($220 if I want to add the scope) This seems like the best option for the cost. Hyperfirm Grade B --> this is another great option but will come at a pretty penny Things to get down the road: 5) Shoulder pauldron - This is for no other reason than because I want to Maybe I'll build a HWT eventually, and I wouldn't use it for sanctioned events but I love the look so there. Leaning towards white but still debating, classic orange looks pretty good to.... Options: http://trooperbay.com/sandtrooper-shoulder-pauldron.html --> $80, great quality https://www.etsy.com/listing/150178963/star-wars-stormtrooper-shoulder-pauldron --> $50, quality? 6) Helmet accessories - would love to deck my lid out with motor cycle lining, darken the interior, add fan and speaker input. I include in this the electronics to go in my chest piece for vocals. While this is something I am super excited about setting up the time and variable money costs will require more research and time that will be hard to budget. Anything else I am forgetting? As I am writing this I am thinking about storage and transport, I have closet space for now so this can get pushed back but I will probably get a hard case eventually for this. A manikin to display on would be fun as well but again not a priority. All in all I am guessing ~$300 worth in the immediate future followed by another $500-700. Sound about right? Thank you in advance for input!
  9. http://www.starwars7news.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/ep7-38176-1377-1378-07.jpg-------------- I am telling you the pauldron is more than just for the Sandies. It never made sense to me that they were "sand troopers" more sense that they were just dirty TKs with maybe some special equipment since they are based on planet instead of a ship or space station.
  10. That is quite literally EXACTLY what I hope to build with my coming kit, complete with white pauldron and DLT-19. I cannot even express how jealous I am or how excited these pictures make me for what is possible with my eventual kit. Thank you for sharing the pics! Your kit is Awesome!
  11. Don't worry when I get my brown box and I start building, if the armor is not going to fit right I am coming straight here to figure out how to customize it to fit right
  12. I am 6' 3.5" ~200lbs so I'll be in the same boat :-)
  13. Well my hope is to do a nice clean ANH-H TK and try to get EIB so that will be without the pauldron obviously. I understand the idea of keeping the forms of media seperate (TV vs movies), it just seems like the TKs in rebels are relatively close to the movies and differences are likely not intentional. It is one of those do we go off a literal interpretation or more of a "essence" of what they were trying to do. And don't worry I get the whole uniformity for a troop and all that, that is why I mentioned all those things in my OP. I more wanted to get discussion going on whether people thought it would be worthwhile to make an "officer" class, or even maybe probe the brain trust and try to get a delineation as to meaning? Ultimately I want to do a heavy but without the backpack... lol one step at a time though :-P Also on a side note it looks as though TFA will continue the awesome use of Pauldrons!!! ...ok so I spent 10min trying to paste a screen shot from the new behind the scenes video but have failed miserably and will just resort to telling you to pause at 1:29 and check out the trooper to the right ;-)
  14. I think you may be confused. From your link: So as I said above EU, or Legends, is not canon. The show "Rebels" for which I provided video links above IS CANON. So the troopers in it are also canon. Hence what appear to be standard TKs with pauldrons are canon.
  15. I understand the Jedi Knight games are no longer canon, hence they were an example of EU (expanded universe) usage. But what about the standard TK in the Canon cartoon "Rebels" in which they have had standard TKs in white, orange, and black pauldrons? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xaMvJhE4uis (~3:00 min mark at the end) (~22 sec) Since these are canon where do they fit in?
  16. So I am getting ready for my Anovos kit and want to have by blaster by the time it gets here. Now I like the idea of the toy conversions, and the new Disney with a stun and normal blaster sound and lights seems like it has some serious potential. Problem is between work and family right now I do not foresee having the time or energy to really devote to that project for a while, plus I would like to go EIB or even Centurion down the road and I don't think that will be a good option for that. Sooo I have been looking for completed E11s to pick up for a reasonable price but am having trouble finding vendors. I have found this vendor:---etsy--Which seem good but are on the pricey side? I have also looked at the Doopydoos finished E11s but I am unsure how much shipping is going to jack up the cost since they are coming from England it appears. Recommendations or advice welcome. Sorry for the newbie question
  17. Alright so I have been reading a bunch regarding the use and wear of pauldron. I have been reading a lot and it seems their use is generally discouraged unless you are a Sandie or a Heavy weapons (essentially a clean Sandie). This seems to come from the sense that we only saw them on screen with Sandies and I get that, plus in a big troop uniformity is important and you don't want a mismash of variations. That being said though there are both EU (the entire Jedi Knight series of games) and Cannon (Rebels) examples of standard TKs wearing pauldrons. I know they were originally used arbitrarily because "they looked cool" but since their use has expanded why not incorporate them into some kind of designated class? I know individually we can do what we want so to speak, but why not classify them for trooping purposes? Such as a Heavy weapons variant without the backpack or TK commander or something of that sort? I know I am very knew to this community so this may be an old topic everyone is sick of, but I didn't find any old threads delving into this much so I figured I'd start a new one to satisfy my own curiosity. I appreciate the discussion and entertaining the newbie questions
