That's what I did, and I gave the "practice" helmet to my son after.

I know AP would fit you well if you are slim, you have the correct shape. I'm at 180cm and 180-185 lb, and I had to shim the sides a bit.
Oh, and welcome !

What I can suggest is to make a build thread for you and ask all your questions. You can ask questions in other threads, but if you concentrate on your own it will be easier for you to have a global view on your build and don't lose important informations (sometimes it's hard to find something when you don't know where to search), and it will be another example of build that other new members can consult in the future. All of your questions and answers will be at one place. In the same way, take the time to read the build threads of other members, so you will find A LOT of good advices and useful pictures.
It's just a suggestion, but of course you can do something different

Tolo referred me to someone in our garrison that did one, so I'll check with him. I will wash the fabric, it woud be very sad to make a costume that no one could wear :-(
Thanks !

I subscribed to the Krayt Clan forum, but it seems that new members can't write new subjects (!). So I'll ask the question here : is this fabric / colour ok for a Jawa robe ?
It's maybe a bit too orange, but I saw many robes who looks like that. It's monk cloth, the fabric seems ok.

Go to Home Depot and ask for snaps. They only have one kind, you can't miss it. That's what I used, and it's perfect.

It was a great gun, but too heavy for my taste :-)

NICE ! I hope to make something like that one day.

Welcome to both of you
We're currently building my wife's scout trooper to go with my storm trooper, and we're looking for costumes for the children. Good times in family !
Take your time to read, you will see that it will get easier to understand. And at the moment you will get you armor, you will see that it's not very difficult.

Ohhh thanks, I'll try that. I should have thought about that !

After the trooping, I saw that my side rivets all lost their paint !!! It was dry for at least 2 weeks, I don't understand why... Is there a way to strengthen the paint ?

Thanks !

There's a good chance you won't need to shim the sides, lucky guy ;-)

Is it from an email ? NEVER click on a link in an email, go directly on the web site. Big companies make a point not to ask for personal informations in their emails, to distinguish themselves from fraudulent persons.

Congratulations ! It's a great build, nothing to say :-)

I was supposed to do my first unofficial trooping this morning, but instead I did my first OFFICIAL trooping !!! :-)
I got approved this morning at 3:35 AM. TK-42178 reporting for duty !
I suspect that our GML was a bit drunk after their Christmas party and, like an ugly lady, I was prettier after a couple of drinks, so the approval was very easy at the end of the night ;-)

I saw this picture on reddit yesterday. I hate it when I get dirt in both eyes at the same time ! They get all wet...
I must say that this is touching me at a personal level, since one of my nieces is currently fighting against a f*cking leukemia. In fact this is the very reason I decided to finally buy my armor, when I saw the fundraising and the hospital visits that the 501st organize. It is my way to contribute, by giving time and help to raise money.
Now I must go, the dirt persists in my eyes and I must clean them a bit.
