True. Does anyone know if their production run stuff ends up being vastly different from their prototypes? I really want to build a suit and the only way the wife may let me is if the price is right. $350 may be just the tipping point!

May have already been asked but I just saw the ANOVOS armor. As I am fairly new to this I see some things that may not be entirely accurate, overall it seems to be pretty decent. I'm sure I may be starting an unintentional heated debate here but for $350 as a kit with completed helmet (early bird price) it is very tempting? Thoughts? http://www.anovos.com/products/star-wars-classic-trilogy-imperial-stormtrooper-pre-order?hc_location=ufi

Thanks for the warm welcome! Missed comic con this year (that pesky National Guard thing!) but already am looking into getting a bucket to start my build. I think I'm going with an RS props one as it was suggested as a good one for an ESB build, now for the waiting list..... Wish me luck!

I have been interested in doing this for a while now. I am a 20 year Veteran currently active duty with the Oregon National Guard. I have been a Star Wars fan since 1980 when my mom wasn't able to get tickets for the movie she wanted to see and took me to ESB instead. I have a daughter that is a Make A Wish child and I am also a volunteer for Make A Wish. The Cloud City Garrison does a lot of work with Make A Wish Oregon and I want to get in on some of that too! (If I can talk my wife into it, she usually caves after a few months....) so I am here to research and network with all you awesome troopers at the best way to get started. I'm pretty handy with tools and have spent a lot of my life painting war gaming miniatures. Thanks for allowing me to peek behind the curtain and see if I can make this a reality.

Of course there is shipping and all kinds of fiddly bits to buy. I realize I sound like a total noob here (because I am) but is it really too good to be true? This is why this forum exists, is it not? To ask questions of the subject matter experts and get sound advice? I have been saving for an ATA set but that's a ways out. I could have this purchased and started before I'd have the $ scraped together for ATA.
