  1. I'd guess they'd use nuts n bolts rather than rivets, but who knows. I hope we can separate it for painting the inside too, Bill, if they're no longer coming lined. That's how the FAQ update made it seem to me. It says "Early plans to include a lined interior on the COMPLETED ENSEMBLE were cancelled." [their emphasis lol] so I wonder if they mean completed helmets too. No mention of lining: "What is inside the helmet? The complete, ready-to-wear helmet includes an adjustable helmet suspension rig system to fit up to size 8 heads. There are no electronics included."

  2. Not a remake, tho. It's textbook homage. The only continuity issue was the skywalker saber: why does it have ESB grips with ROTS brass eye instead of another graflex button? And since when does the "activation box" (graflex clamp) not turn it on? She hits the "blade length adjustment" knob to turn it on, according to the TFA visual dictionary lol. I think JJ had a MR ESB and then... a time warp opened and the emitter reverted to its 40-years-ago form :)

  3. I wish my iPhone would post pics, but TJ you're very much on the right track based on my own bolt, still in straight-from-the-battlefield condition dirt/oil-wise. If anything, the clearing strips themselves are fairly "silver" on mine, but you've done a great job recreating the color and finish on the lower sections. Lots of pics online, I'll also post some shortly. Keep it up! :)

  4. I plan to keep my a'vos as shiny as a Death Star TK, and to let my ATA weather naturally; that helmet is pretty scratched-up, and the chest plate has a nick in it, so it has potential to get promoted to a sandy. If you get an a'vos kit with a sandy build in mind, you'd want to get the helmet as a kit or at least unpainted. (Anyone ask them about doing a sandy helmet?) I'm excited to see the lining of the completed helmets and if the hardhat straps are comfortable or easily removable. So close!
