I'm considering giving mine a spirit bath and pretending like it arrived assembled but unpainted. I just feel like we as a community can do better than the particular example I received. Since I have UKSWRATH's excellent stencils, I think I'm gonna do that eventually

It's strong enough to drill FYI. Can't wait to see more!

Ear gaps are normal. I'm more concerned with 1138 grey being much darker than the Anvs decal and frown's grey.
-
That's rude of them! I thought I had read a success story about getting a kit instead, but I guess not

As a paralegal I'm interested, but forbidden to give any specific advice. Always a good idea to do your homework because usually you'll only get one chance. Hope it gets resolved satisfactorily

Very cool, always good to see original brackets

I wish they would have had an option to get the helmet kit with the armor kit.
All it would have taken was an email, I would have asked them for a kit but I wanted the lining... which they abandoned.

I'd love to see your bucket eventually. Interesting to see the decals seem uniform but the airbrushing seems hit or miss. Good luck, have fun and ask questions

Great to see these finally arriving. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. Can't wait to see how it turns out for you

Where in SoCal? I'm in OC

Beautiful! It'll be fun to see how that open bolt looks

Machinimax (sp?) uploaded a video to YouTube today of his S&T conversion. There's also one by Scottjua

Exactly, it makes it harder for observers to see in the eyes or up the neck opening. Plus it looks cool IMO. I would have asked Anvs for a helmet kit but I wanted the lining which ended up not happening! I plan to use a foam brush (or something) with plenty of paint, as opposed to spraypaint which needs more masking than I want to try on an assembled lid (much easier in pieces)

Wahoo! Good luck and have fun with it Everyone is here to help

Yeah, just stick the Velcro back on between ghe traps. It's a 3-layer Velcro system: head, strap, strap, Velcro, helmet. I had to re-stick almost all my glued surfaces but it'll be fine even if you have to reposition a few times

Just got some tin shears today so I'll be cutting soon, I swear

I'll unbox the armor completely soon, but here are some of the helmet.
ANOVOS on left, ATA on right. Then some detail shots I haven't shown anyone else yet

Frown is sloppily airbrushed, but should be easy to fix:
No ear step trick, so one side has a pretty big gap for my OCD:
Kinda rough ear trimming in general:
One ear has the very bottom (3rd) screw half-showing, and the other is completely hidden:
Airbrushed glossy vocoder:
Not sure if this "S" trim is good enough, its pretty squared if that matters:
Fairly accurate trim length/placement tho:
Lenses are pre-cut with Velcro attachment. Velcro for the head strap too. Frown mesh held on by double-sided sticky foam (technical term):
Very flush tube overlaps, I could hardly believe it :
Mic tips look good to me. Very fine mesh and nice ...nipples:
Eyes could use some reshaping and sanding, but they left some meat on there so we can keep the screen-accurate look. Brow trim seems fine and is glued on just like the neck trim:
Here are some close-ups of the decals. They did such a great job of getting the hand-painted look that I suspect they're direct copies of the real deal:

Greetings! Officially stoked about getting my BBB today, tho without any shipping notifications or signature at drop-off like they said to expect. Oh well! So far I've looked at the helmet and a few of the arm pieces and they are SHARP with very clear guide-lines. They didn't utilize the ear notch trick, and the ear tube curves could use a sanding. I also noticed that since the parts come in slippery plastic bags, the glossy plastic shakes around which caused one of my bicep halves to get scratched. I think I have polish somewhere, so it's no biggie but it is something to watch out for. The eyes and teeth need to be opened and/or sanded slightly. The mouth is airbrushed and so looks more like ESB in grey, and lacks the corner/outside little dabs. The traps and tube stripes seem like decals but they look great and don't have big edges or any flaws. More to come (including pics!)

Just got mine! 282 days of agony

I haven't seen them anywhere, including Disneyland. The request for no blasters on troops has been repealed, but they still have metal detectors at the entrances. I go there a lot so I'll let everyone know if I see them again

Someone on FB said they've gotten their fedex update. We'll see, right?

It'll be nice to put the 14" figure and voice changer mask's phrases in chronological order

Glad to see that switch work in a resin handle. You beat me to the punch on a build like this, so I'm paying close attention
