It comes with instructions. Plus all the other folks all building around the same time to help, not to mention the other brands' build threads... You can do it! Or send me $850 and I'll build it for you! 😅Jk but srsly I'm sure this will be lots of people's first builds. Trust in the force

Hopefully, depending on what the parts are. I'm guessing: battery pack, wires, circuit board, wires, speakers and 2-option switch which may be on/off or the quotes/changer control. I'm assuming there's room for the "guts" even in a smaller ATA. Lots of cavities and suchDo you think you can adapt it for a stormtrooper helmet?

Posted on the other one lol:
Sounds like it's time to establish your very own outpost! Some have only one member, so you'd be on a recon and recruitment mission once you're admitted. RS props is about the nicest base you could ask for if I'm not mistaken. Be sure to sign up on mepd.net with the sandies, but we all start shiny. Have fun and good luck
But I see you'll have some friends after all! Even better!

Sweet, I'm sure your experience will transfer. Which movie variation did you want to build? ESB?? lol Glad to have you

Lol double post eh

The efx ANH stunt helmets have the symmetry, grey frown, and no ear screws that you're looking for. It's face is a mirrored left side of the stunt face as you wear it. The ears are thick but lots of threads show how to fix that. I'd go that route if you don't hate the overall aesthetics of it. I bought one and put grey bubble lenses (easy swap, 3 screws each lens) and changed the frown to look more hero-ic and its my idealized display lid. You'll love a screen accurate one once you get your hands on one! Welcome and good luck

Did you happen to try the voice changing mode? I wonder if it clicks/pops like an icomm
-
I'm tempted to shoot down and buy one lol. I love that it comes with 15 phrases, they sound surprisingly good on Youtube videos. Not sure about the voice changer yet, maybe the mic could be swapped for a better sounding one. Looks like it just unscrews and pops open.

You're fine. The hole is to prevent that corner from cracking, not for your ear screws. The ear holes go where the two bumps are inside the round part of the cut. And yeah you cut the brow to fit snugly, but do that later once it's assembled

I admit I ordered a kit as an extra for the same reason. Good luck and have fun, everyone's here to help

Good luck finding armor quickly, check out the vetted makers list and start sending those emails. Hopefully Anovos will deliver in time for the premier like they want to. I'll be representing the local Imperial presence too😎(ATA is about a year wait for armor, but he has inexpensive helmet kits usually available)

Can't go wrong with ANH. Lots of new CA troopers! Glad to have you

Yo, good to see another Cali TK incoming

Lenses are screws, but I think everything else is glue and plastic tabs. I think it's a 3 piece helmet (face, cap, back), so you might want to cut it in half with a power saw unless you'd like to be able to reassemble it afterwards.
-
Great idea and execution. I'll use this for adding height rather than girth
-
That honestly might have to change once someone compares them to the real deal. After I finish modding and painting mine (shouldn't be too long) we'll be able to see exactly where they had to make consessions to fit the electronics. I can tell the front sight, magazine and end cap and pipe are small, for example. It's really not a Hasbro derivative as far as the design goes.
Level one is just any old Sterling "replica". EIB requires you to drill the missing open row of barrel holes and have all the parts but you can rock a doopy mod. Centurion needs a more accurate replica though, no hasbros

Quick question Charles. Did you order a bucket AND a full kit (including another bucket) from ATA? Or is it that you can only get the armor with a bucket?
I think he sells from full sets all the way down to the individual pieces (replacements), with a small discount if you get everything. I got a single ATA stunt full DIY kit (2nd is Anovos) but my armor still hasn't come (takes however long it takes!) You'd just be getting (and paying for) the helmet kit for now and get on the waiting list for your armor kit. (At least that's what he told me like last June or so. Shoot him an email if you want current specifics)
-
Hey Tcromb: ATA helmets are usually no wait and relatively inexpensive with the full DIY kit. I got my lid last year and I'm towards the top of the list for armor now, owing about the same as Anovos with shipping since you only pay ATA when your stuff ships. That means I'm getting two full sets plus another bucket and soft goods for around $750 out of pocket this year. Just saying there are ways to stretch out the immense intro cost😜

They told me they're out of stock and trying to relocate etc. and didn't have an estimate for when more will be available. Bad news for everyone! "Take my money!" right?😄
-
I was able to fit my big head into an eFX lid with a moto helmet liner AND a size large respirator. I doubt it'll fit in my ATA only cause they're smaller. I bet a small head and a small respirator could fit. I'm gonna hook up the in-valves to the mic tips and let the out go into the helmet (if I can fit my echo fan bracket in too!)
The ear vent idea makes sense considering almost everyone has SOME gap. The vents could be like gills in the face/cap, hidden by the ears
-
Compared to other buckets (especially the new Anovos TK) I've decided that my ears look fine.
Looks like my rear traps might go too far over the lower ridge according to starwarshelmets.com. I was following my Dave M templates so who knows how I managed to mess it up, lol

Yeah, it's usually better to order directly from his website (trooperbay.com) than deal with crazy eBay nonsense
-
I'm 6'4" and getting the kit. I assume it'd be the same process as getting other makers to fit. It can probably be done and if not we can sell it I guess lol

Nice work. Looks a lot like the originals. Perfect for a hero
