  1. Hey All, Sorry for such a long gap between updates, but here we go A few weeks ago I received my helmet bag from trooperbay and patches from a fellow GGG member: *I'll be putting these patches on my helmet bag soon. About a week ago received a new trimmed ab plate: I also ordered these painting templates (Star Wars Stormtrooper Abdominal Plate Masking Template) for the ab buttons. I wanted to play around with them and I bought both sizes. But one set was too small, and one set was too big… so I just took my plates off my other ab plate and glued them onto my new one. This time, I waned to make sure I put the belt on correctly. Since the belt was already built it took a bit for me to figure out a good way to line it all up. In the end my girlfriend and I came up with this simple and accurate way to line it all up. We used the putty you hang up posters, placed the belt where it needs to go and then pushed into the putty to see the outlines of the snaps. Once I had the placement I used a pencil to mark the center of the snap. Worked pretty well, here’s some photos: Also yesterday, I finished up all the rest of the requirements and added the snap plates on my new ab plate. Lastly, used some acrylic paint and toned down the gold. *Please let me know if I should tone the gold down more. Today I’m working on the two last things, cutting down the cover strips and adjusting my forearms. I’m shooting to be done this week and take some new photos soon! Side Note, I do have one question about the rubber gloves. I took them off my mannequin and it looks like the black rubber is becoming oxidized? Does anyone else have this problem? I'm going to pick up some tire cleaner to see what I can do. I think it will work fine, but I was just wondering what everyone else does
  2. Thanks! Yeah I love-love the presentation and worth every penny
  3. I had it custom made at Tap Plastics It holds 140 figures (10 rows, 14 figures per row), has a mirrored back, and a full magnetic closed door. It was a bit pricy, but I love how it looks! At my previous apartment I had more room, and it wasn't all jammed in a corner.
  4. lol yeah, I'm running out of space in my small studio apartment, so right now my girlfriends and my collectables are all pushed into corners Thank you for clarifying the list! I can't wait to start working on fixing these changes.
  5. Hey All, It’s been a busy but exciting week! First off, I’m EIB approved! That said, I have 2 required corrections and 1 suggested correction to make before applying for Centurion. Gathering the GGG and Centurion corrections, my work list is as follows: Required: 1 - Adjust Forearms so they are not as large around. [GGG] 2 - Fix belt location on ab plate [C] 3 - Tone down the gold on Blaster [C] Suggested: 1 - Adjust thigh harder to lower thighs [GGG] 2 - Trim length of cover strips on some parts [C] Not a bad list of corrections for my first time building Stormtrooper armor This week I also received my mannequin from TK Products : Pretty nice mannequin, he’s about 2 inches taller than me, and overall I’m extremely happy with it. That’s about it for now, once I receive my replacement Ab Plate in the mail I’ll start on these corrections. Looking forward to receiving my Centurion approval then head out trooping with the GGG!
  6. Thank you! I already have plans this Friday, if not I totally would. I've been lurking our Facebook and it looks like that event will be super fun! Yeah, I am a bit of a perfectionist, plus a replacement Ab Plate wasn't too much Thanks! Once I get all the parts/supplies I need I'll start working on the corrections.
  7. Thanks for the tip! I'll try and track down some Angelus Leather Paint. Thank you! Thank you!
  8. Tim Magoolaghan 31689 EIB Letter Thank you!
  9. Thank you! Thank you Tony, I'll definitely work on these and post my progress on my build thread. Thank you! Yep Novus is amazing, a little elbow grease and a hour or so is all it takes Thank you! Thank you! Yep, sounds like the scope needs to be tone down a bit. Thank you! I haven't had a real problem yet, but I'll be adjusting them. Thank you! haha, your belt is amazing, thank you for making such a great product. Thank you! haha, Thank you! Woo hoo! EIB! Thank you!
  10. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: Woo hoo! Glad you liked the photos, I was trying to make your job as easy as I could Thank you very much for reviewing my armor, super proud to be part of the EIB Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: - Haha, yeah, my friend and I were playing with lighting the helmet and got a bit carried away, its pretty shiny in person, but most of it is how we lit the bucket. - Thank you very much, painting my helmet was super hard, and being a slight perfectionist it took me a few (well more than a few) tries to get it how I liked. That said, I can not take all the credit, my amazing girlfriend helped me paint the pin striping. - Thank you for the complements about the AP armor build. Really, I wouldn’t have been able to make it without all the amazing people and information here on the FISD. - Cover strips: I agree, a few of them are a bit too long. I plan on cutting a few of them down, namely: Left Shin, Right Thigh, Right Shin, Right forearm. - Thermal Detonator: Reviewing what others do, it seems like everyone buys a replacement TD from another vender. Kind of a bummer that AP’s is a bit small, but at one point I do plan on picking up a replacement. - Ear Gaps: I agree my right ear is quite wide. I’ve been playing with the idea of fixing it, but right now I like the “authentic†feel it’s giving off. That said, probably I’ll get another helmet down the road and make those ears flush (can’t have too many helmets right?). - Sniper Plate: Thank you! Really, trust me, it was not easy at all. That AP sniper plate does not fit, so you have to tweak it and clamp the heck out of it. As for technique I don’t think there really was any. I just used a lot of blue tape, a lot of E6000 glue, and popsicle sticks with clamps to add pressure in exact areas. I really wish I took a picture, but at the time I was just glad to have it in the spot I wanted. Centurion Suggestions: AB Plate: No worries! Thank you for reviewing Tony and I have and this conversation over the past month or so. I have already ordered a new ab plate and it is currently being shipped to me. Hyperfirm Blaster: Will do, do you have a suggestion of what brand of paint I should use and/or should I thin out the paint a bit before applying? I would love to see what others have done if it is posted on the FISD. Thank you again for reviewing my armor. I'll make these corrections, post the progress on my build thread then apply for Centurion
  11. Thank you It is quite comfy and really adjustable. My friend came up with the rig, I'm not sure if he would want to do a run of them, but I'll tap him and see if he would be interested.
  12. Started my EIB thread: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/32070-tk-31689-requesting-anh-stunt-eib-status-ap/ Wish me luck!

  16. Ohh snap! So, I haven't received my email from the 501st, but I searched my name in the 501st members and here I am! http://www.501st.com/members/displaymember.php?userID=19018&costumeID=124 Speaking of emails, I didn't get the confirmation of 501st submission email either... maybe typed my email in wrong on the submission form? Or is there usually a delay in receiving these emails?
  17. Thank you! I plan on getting my EIB and Centurion badges first then I'll be right there with ya guys Thank you Great idea, I'll gather all the requested changes first (from GGG and the EIB request thread) then start working on fixing my armor.
  18. Hey all Great news, I'm GGG Approved!! Right now I'm just waiting to hear back from the 501st about my Legion ID Number, I was going to wait and announce it all at the same time, but the suspense was killing me! I do have 2 minor changes to my armor that were requested: Required: 1 - The forearms need to be adjusted so they are not as large around. Try to make the forearms smaller and taper a little towards the wrist. Suggested: 2 - The thigh armor seems very close to your cod/butt armor. See if you can put a little more space. This may help to prevent pinching while trooping. I'll be working on the forearms this week/weekend and post photos of the updates here. As for the thigh armor, my thigh garter belt is extremely adjustable, so I probably just need loosen the straps a bit to have it sit a little lower. Thats about it for now, I'll post my Legion ID Number once I get the email! Thanks again everyone for your help!
  19. Thank you! Thank you! It was very exciting wear the whole suit and take photos of the whole experience. Thank you for the suggestion, ukswrath (Tony) and I were also discussing minor tweaks that will probably come up while applying for EIB and Centurion. Thank you again for all your help!
  20. Thank you! Thank you! I sent these photos and a few extras of my helmet to the last email address you sent me. I'm not sure if he's the GML, but his name was Roger R. Should I send the photos to another person too?
  21. Yep, thank you again everyone that has helped me out along the way! Here’s the photos I submitted to the GGG, I took these photos just last night Front: Back: Left: Left - Arm Raised: Right: Right - Arm Raised: Helmet Off: Action Pose: … here’s a few more action poses My friend and I ended up taking over 200 photos so I’m currently sifting through them and getting them ready for Expert Infantryman and Centurion submission. Wish me luck!
  22. Hey All, I received my ammo belt caps! At this point I think I’m 100% done! Questions: 1 - On Friday, I will be going to my friends house to take nice 501st, GGG, EIB, and Centurion photos. Is there ANYTHING you guys would like to see before I take these photos? Anything I’m missing? Any detail you guys would like to see? 2 - Joining 501st / GGG. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I first apply here for 501st: http://www.501st.com/members/join_form.php and then for the GGG follow the instructions here: http://www.goldengategarrison.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4981 Is that correct? thank you! I can’t wait!
