  1. I had the same trouble with my AM2 armour, the trick I found was to reduce the returns on the pieces, mine are about 5 mm, then do the boiling water trick to gently coax the pieces a bit straighter, rather than the tight angle that make the armour look like its pushing away from your body, the first time I did a quick fit, the chest was a few inches away from my chest, same with the back.

Caution though, if your going to use boiling water to reshape, go slow and protect your hands, plus watch the returns as they get stretched, you can crack them easily.

I found on mine that once I attached the shoulder bridges, they still did not centre up on the back attaching area (if that makes sense), there going to need fine tuning a bit before I am 100% happy.

Oh, and if your going to use this method, keep an eye on the attaching area as it might twist, and that creates a point that digs into you.

Hope that helps, you could look at my build (as much as I have done), but I'm not sure it's any clearer :)

  2. I just received an email and went and had a look, I like the price $800........not so much the estimated shipping via DHL of over $500 dollars to the UK (could be the express option), even when Anovos release there official shipping prices I expect the full set to be at least $1250 (plus whatever UK customs add...curse them), for a size that according to there little diagram will be a tough fit for my build.

Plus I am rubbish at painting, so the distinct possibility of having to paint the kit worries me.

  3. Nothing much to report, although I am eventually getting round to restarting my build to hopefully finish before another Star Wars movie gets released :)

As a quick update, I have removed both of the button plates from the ab of my armour to trim them a bit more, after months of starring at them I was unhappy about the lack of outline of the raised ab area showing, looking at reference photos, mine need a trim.......one step forward.....two steps back....sigh.

  4. Whilst I love the build threads and acknowledge how much they have helped me and continue to help me, I sometimes think it might be nice if they were tagged by the armour maker, I realise that a lot of armour builds are of a generic type, but sometimes somebody figuring out your own armours particular quirk might be handy.
