No worries Peter, got you sorted !

Wow, what rave reviews! I don't really know what the heck I am doing as I am still in the beginning stages but my AP kit will require this goodness eventually.
Please put me down for 1 set of ......
'FINELY FINISHED Hovi's with built-in, pre-wired speakers, completely trimmed, detailed, screens installed and ready for installation.'
Thanks,
John
BTW, your avatar is bada$$!
Got you listed John! About my avatar.... THANKS!! LOL, that's a photo I posed for at a Timothy Zahn book signing event in Beaverton, OR. On the Cloud City Garrison forums I have the caption, "Where's my TWO DOLLARS?!" underneath it.
-
I have 2 sets of Stompers mic tips and they are tip top, get um while you can
Much appreciated Mark!
BTW- Although I haven't been able to do a THING concerning armor-craft lately, I'm REALLY diggin' those canvass TK belts I received from you!
-
Hey Terrell,
FYI- In case he hasn't let you know yet, Dave just PM'd me and said he goofed and wanted two of my kits w/speakers and was going to ask to be dropped from your list as he would rather have them pre-installed by me. I can see where people can get confused between our two threads, so I'll be sure to monitor your thread as well to make sure troopers don't "duplicate" their orders by accident!
-
Got you listed as per your PM Dave!
-
Thanks for the good word Jay!! I hope you got your amplifier issue worked out!!
-
Thanks for the endorsement Carlos!!
-
Got ya down Nathan! Hmmm... the E-11 blasters... you mean those LABOR INTENSIVE things I can never muster enough free time to decently make even ONE, ATM?
***OFF TOPIC*** I have had another observational breakthrough while studying the REAL Sterling SMG I have in my shop... I think I can accurately replicate the inner workings of the rear end-cap so it looks and works EXACTLY like the real-deal instead of the "backwards" slots I currently have on my hand carved version... hang in there good times are coming concerning those... next calendar year!
-
Got you two added!

Hey Dave,
I'm currently out of the mini-speakers, and like everyone else I have to wait for another run of those to be made available, but I will post an interest list for a 4th run when I'm able to start making more in quantity. I can make the finished versions without speakers anytime, so if that will work for the time being shoot me a PM.
Troops, I appreciate the continued interest in these, and I'll do another run in the near future, but I'm going to have this thread locked down as this run is over and should be put to bed.
THANKS!!!!!

Ian,
Unless you have a parent or legal guardian that is a member of the 501st, the answer would be almost ALWAYS "no" for an under aged person to troop. The reason being, if its an INFORMAL troop and some of the members bring their children when its appropriate, THEY incur the liablity if something happens to their kid(s), but it's more of a case of the kid's causing an issue due to "immaturity", and a minor cannot be "sued" for neglegence in a civil case, but their PARENTS can be for that minor child's behavior. I'm not saying that YOU would misbehave, but "stuff happens", and if the 501st allowed minors to troop then they would be be exposed to being held liable for any actions of neglegence or malice, so... there you have it. One more thing to condsider... many times children are not brought to a trooping event BECAUSE this hobby is one way for the adults to put their "real worlds" in the drawer for a while to "get away from it all" and kids (at times) can be another source of added frustration during a troop making it just "another job", instead of it being something fun for adults.

Alex,
Those Hovi-Mix aerators look AMAZING!! Where did you get those?
I think that is some STELLAR armor, the ONLY thing I would adjust is the sniper knee-plate upwards as it looks like it pivoted down a bit on the two outter rivets / fasteners.
-
LOL... I have a FEELING this trooper may be referring to some Pacific Northwest Event and perhaps trooping it... since wild salmon run aplenty in Canada, Washington, and Oregon.
-
As far as the TE - GF - Gino dispute: "Everyone is justified in their own eyes." Only those involved can resolve their issue, and ther's no sense in taking sides in a years old dispute anyway, unless you are sitting on a jury in court.
Now don't get me wrong, I agree with you guys on the primo fees for armor.... I just can't quite bring myself to spring for the asking price of the more accurate armors out there BECAUSE I know the following; After the initial investment of acquiring a master and making the molds, it doesn't cost a whole lot in materials, and once you have a systematic process down, not a huge amount of time to crank out armor parts by the scores. If ever I get into this aspect of prop building (I'm into fabricating WEAPONRY, see E-11 blasters... LOL) I most likely would be asking around slightly more than half of what the current prices are for accurate armor.
There's nothing wrong with making a fair profit for your time and operating expenses, but like any market... supply and demand will gauge the asking prices. Since there is an increasing number of talented individuals/groups making this stuff the competition will further drive prices down, and it will be more of a matter of having a good reputation and customer service that will keep troopers coming your way instead of the others, so.... playing nice, and being somewhat civil and congenial with folks will be a factor as well. The "arrogant" armor master days are coming to a close, again this is a plus for the SW prop-loving community, that's why I can live without having UBER ACCURATE armor for the time being.

WOW... I JUST NOW saw this thread tonight and read through the WHOLE THING in one setting...
I don't read the forums for a few weeks and everything comes UNHINGED!!
That final conclusion about TE's armor lineage basically about sums up what I was able to piece together over the last two years from reading "this and that" in many a dark corner of the internet.
FYI- Since it HAS come up before... If anyone doubts that Matt has been in the LFL archives; I personally saw some of the photos he took of all that good stuff while at his house a while back when I delivered twenty sets of custom made Hovi's to him. (I believe the DAY BEFORE his wedding!)
OFF TOPIC (a bit)- Contrary to the way Matt can come off in the forums sometimes, he's actually a pretty friendly guy, who was quite gracious enough to me and was willing to show and share quite a bit in answering some of the questions I asked. Just ask yourselves one thing; IF you were Matt and were widely regarded as THE ONE who made TK armor available to the masess, with everyone "wanting" something from you, not really being interested in "you", just your killer armor and perhaps feeling like you got ripped off by more than a few people (not directed at Gino!) over time, wouldn't YOU charge premo fees for armor, and be a tad on the cynical side too?
* TE, best of luck to you and the Mrs. in that child custody thing!

Sounds pretty good.
Actually S@A your voice sounds better with it
LOL.... I bet he looks much better with his bucket on too.
I'll be sending some PP somebody's way in a week or two, gotta pay for a few other things first!
-
I believe they come in two different variations, one in white and one in that beige-ish color... I got two white ones and they're pretty danged nifty! I fully endorse these items, the materials and workmanship is as good as it gets!
-
Thanks,
I have developed my own molds and cast the t-track in a black urethane rubber (VERY similar to hyper-firm rubber), but you can buy some GREAT STUFF from www.blast-tech.com It's t-grip by the foot, and it costs $5.00 a foot (shipped) the last time I looked.

Hey Gary,
I'm up to my keester in home remodel work... almost finished a new tile floor in my master bathroom... tiled shower stall and plumbing for the WHOLE HOUSE is next in line. I just spent most of today cleaning out my work shop, and getting it back to an organized state, I did indeed cast a wistful glance at all the misc. E-11 parts I have made up and stored in their stacked bins, but alas... I just don't have any time to fabricate anything (or go trooping) ATM between the home remodel and overseeing a $350,000 project up in Seattle, WA for my employer.
Projects I have in the cue are:
Scout Trooper blaser (rubber and resin versions) that I have already made a few of and sold off
MG-34's (rubber versions)
E-11's (ANH, ESB. ROTJ in both rubber and functional stock versions)
DH-17's (Imperial and Rebel Fleet Trooper versions in both rubber and PVC versions)
DC-17's (Republic Commando)
DC-15's (Carbine)
(then there's the Hovi-Mix aerators I produce as well....)
I already have working proto-types of everything listed above, but I rekon around the first part of next calendar year I will be able to start up a bit of my fabrication projects again, it's ALL about time and money... hang in there!
-
Jim and Ron, shoot me a PM... I'll answer it, I promise.
-
And you tholught I was just another pretty face....
-
Here's my current rig, it's a scratch-built fan sculpt made by a VERY talented friend of mine. Although its not UBER accurate, I think it looks pretty nice all the same. (Just copy and paste them if you want to use them.)
One guy liked it so much he decided to modify the 501st Seal and insert my armor into it so he could get it tattooed on himself!
-
I'm in for TWO!
Thanks Carlos!
