  1. Looking through some old pictures Mark has posted, I know now how and where the bridges are connected with the velcro (they also look like they were glued and since i am dumb in riveting, I am going to glue them, too. Rivets can ve added later ). Yeah, I almost raged yesterday when I was starting with the butt! Should start with someting easy. Can you give me some advice on a good liner for the helmet? Mine is, nicely said, garbage. Anyway, more progress soon, only on this cannel Sent from the shield generator on Endor
  2. Found a picture in one of sskunky's assebled suit threads. PM is out.
  3. 2 this is exactly where I drew the lines, even tough i may not seem so. 3. The bridges should be secured for Centurion (I believe so, but secured for sure) I will add some elastic beneath it. 4. The trim is quite stubborn as I saw today there is no way that this will stay secure without glue. Oh and it seems the armour does fit me quite well, as far as I could se in a test fit with tape today. Sent from the shield generator on Endor
  4. Did some work yesterday. The Ab-plate is now fully trimmed. And some other trimmed parts (I think, I did a better job with the shoulder this time ): But I have a couple of questions now: 1) I am not 100% concerned how to trim the sides on the chest. Is this correct? 2) There is some trim left on the back and the chest. I am afraid that if I trim it down, it will be too short. An ideas? 3) As I know now, the shoulder straps are secured with velcro on the chest (and I suppose they have to be heatbent). Is this enough to hold the full thorso in place? 4) Does the white trim have to be glued or is it enough if I use a hairdryer once it is fitted on the edges? Some progress, a lot of questions. Please do not call the angry mob, I do what I can
  5. I did not do any Ok, the handguards. But i kinda messed with that one. Sent from the shield generator on Endor
  6. Thank you! Yes exclusive. Has a good and a not-so-good side Sent from the shield generator on Endor
  7. Oh, so it was not my computer, which was broken? Poor guy, I have to apologize to him What is this suspicious "real life"? Sent from the shield generator on Endor
  8. Some updates incoming (warning, a bit heavy of pics)! I tried to cut down the return edge on the handguards. Not quite satisfying, I will have an eye on that later. In addition I trimmed one of the shoulder bells. (straight lines do not seem to like me) And here are some other trimmed parts. The chest, the back-plate and the ab-plate are not entirely finished yet. Regards, Felix
  9. I am still building, but when I started, i tried to glue the inside of my helmet with patex. Sent from the shield generator on Endor
  10. I don't know, where you found these on Amazon, Eric I just ordered a curved one for 5Ć¢ā€šĀ¬, coming here tomorrow. ... whoops, I still need a holster and a neckseal... *runs to Darman*
  11. Oh ok First and last time I used this huge scissors. Cutting with a sharp knife is a bit tricky but it seems to work. I am gonna try some medical scissors tomorrow. Maybe they are useful for the lower parts of the body armour. Sent from the shield generator on Endor
  12. I hope you had a great Christmas and I wish you a happy new year! I've been a bit lazy (or call it scared from starting), but I have ideed tried to trim some pieces. I think the right handguard needs some more trimming, but it isn't too bad for a first try, is it? But I think I kinda messed up a dropbox. What do you think? Cheers, Felix
  13. What, there is now a fanclub?I wanna join! Btw: Awsome Work! Looking forward for more progress! Sent from the shield generator on Endor
  14. By looking at Mark's trimming I am now conviced that the upper line is the right one. I should read more carefully Sent from the shield generator on Endor
  15. So I just started to draw some lines for trimming. Before I start cutting, I would like to ask you for your opinion. As you see there are two lines. I would suggest trimm on the upper one. Do you agree with me? Sent from the shield generator on Endor
  16. Note to myself. NEVER use Patex on plastic again. Luckyly the plastic on the helmet isn't completely eaten up, but it is very thin on the spot where I placed patex to fix the liner I am stupid. Will have to wait until E6000 arrives and place it on the exact spot. Hopefully it does not break through and leave a hole in the helmet Sent from the shield generator on Endor
  17. Well that's good news! Prepare to recieve tons of pictures until Christmas I am currently getting experience in cutting plastic (man, 1,5mm are tough!) and I've also glued the liner inside the helmet. It's the small parts, that build up my confidence and I caught myself today trying to fit some parts on me and realizing where they need to be trimmed to fit me well. I'm out for today, doing some testing how the strapping is set up. Cheers Sent from the shield generator on Endor
  18. Thank you! So when I start trimming, I should keep in mind that I need some extra plastic? Sent from the shield generator on Endor
  19. Umm, actually I can do that when I am on Tapatalk. Strange... Sent from the shield generator on Endor
  20. Ok, Everything is placed on the floor (the legs are on the wrong side, i know ). I think, I can start trimming soon. But for now I am a little confused. Call me stupid, but I thought that glueing the pieces together would work with these plastic stripes. But in the CRLs it says "overlapping method". How does that work? Don't worry, I am going to look it up when I can, but a little hint would be great Cheers Felix Sent from the shield generator on Endor
  21. @K@nne: The strapping package comes with a diagram drawn by someone wo actually wore the suit on set. Contact Mark if you want to know more about it @TM: Yeah, I noticed that, too What I find disturbing is, that it actually came like that inside the construction helmet. Sent from the shield generator on Endor
  22. I am looking forward either! Oh and "I cannot see a thing in this helmet" Sent from the shield generator on Endor
  23. I am interested! I was thinking about buying it, but i kinda messed it up. Sent from the shield generator on Endor
  24. I am sorry for double posting, but I forgot something. While I had school, my parents ordered me a constrution helmet (did I write it right?). The inside popped out nicely and fits perfect into my bucket! Just needs to be glued. Cheers Felix
  25. Ladies and gentleman! Come closer, rest for a while and watch me trying to build a Stormtrooper! I thought, it would be time to open a new thread, because now my work starts At frist let me show you again the line up on my build: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Armour and helmet: CFO (qee) In addition I will buy the strapping pack and the white armour trim, too, from him. Neckseal and holster: Darman Gloves: Ebay Boots: From Francouis; they need white colour on the sole Under suit: My parents print T-Shirts so I get the parts from them. Blaster: Kai (TI 6815) (Big Thank you, Kai!) As tools I already have a lot of different blades (exacto knife included) and a (quite shucksty) dremel. To glue the parts I will use E6000 (I will have to practise with that before I start). Now to the parts I still need to research: - I have now plan how to trim my armour, so I will have a look on this. - Reference pictures should not be a real problem. - And last but not least assembling the armour. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- At first I want to apologize. I recieved the BBB last week, but I did not have time to update But here it is! And this is what was inside. Mark did already assemble the helmet, thank you for this! To my pity, one lense popped out because of the shipping, but two dots of hot glue later, I have restored the bucket's beauty. And then I did something, I could not resist to do That should be all for now. Assembling will start in December (I am soo scared of it). Cheers Felix
