  1. For teeth I drilled a small pilot hole then opened up the shape with a 3 sided modelling file. Nice sharp corners and you can go a bit wonky/sharp like they're supposed to be Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. For my armour I glued 2 long lengths of white elastic to the back piece going under the chest bridge to the chest piece. One would be permanently glued to the right 'pec' of the chest piece and the other would attach to a snap on the left 'pec'. I then taped the butt, kidney and back together with. 2-3 mm gap between each (as they should have) and stood in front of the mirror and adjusted the chest piece to fit. Reaching to my shoulders with a pencil to mark the gap on the elastic between chest and back. I glued the elastic to the back, kidney and butt piece and held them in place with magnets up to the return edge. It worked perfectly as I'm not using the bracket system, I have good stretch when I move but it doesn't sag in any way. I can hold the whole piece from the shoulder elastic and it maintains the minimal gap with no stretching. The armours just not heavy enough. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. This was never shown in the UK and despite being 40 I've never had the urge to watch until now. I had a fairly quiet afternoon in the office so I pulled up YouTube on my iPhone and watched it. Now I feel dirty Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Anyone know a good material to make a screen out of. Also I'm looking for a file so I can print my own. Apologies if these are readily available by the search function in Tapatalk always returns zero matches! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Happy to help bro! the internet IS very cool Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Makes perfect sense. I have tons of this so I'll pop it off to copy the loop around the belt. Thanks for the update Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. My build has slowed down a bit due to space issues so I've been working on the small stuff. I saw in the photo section that the drop boxes on the RS suit have a horizontal strip of elastic that wraps around vertical elastic on the back of the inner box. I figured if it was glued to the inside of the inner box it would make for a working drop box so I gave it a try. The elastic is nice and tight and even if I didn't keep a credit card or similar inside I'm sure I could find a use for it. Of course, it could have been one of many reasons that the RS suit was made that way but I like to think that it held a few cigarettes and matches for a smoke between takes Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. That's great to hear, let the angling begin! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. I was under the impression that cover strips were straight edged with the corners rounded but always essentially at a right angle. Now I've spotted this in the photo reference section. It looks angled in line with the contour of the opening but I suppose it could be snapped off. Any opinions please? or is this perfectly acceptable and I was just unaware.. 10. I'm sure I can lose a few more mm from the an and kidney and still maintain a gap. I still need to bend both to shape as I'm a 32" waist and they're a little too 'oval' when they meet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. My armour arrived so the E11 has taken a back seat for a while. I'll be back on it once I submit myself for approval. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. The measurements from the top down on the ab piece are key here as the return edge is a fixed starting point. The rest is easy to work out from there as you just 'mirror' the spacing in the kidney plate. Bear in mind this will only be 'identical' if you're measuring another RS ab but if you take my ab measurements and compare to yours then you can scale up or down accordingly. The hole is 4mm, when the 8mm rivet is inserted there are exactly 10mm from the edge of the rivet to the side of the ab piece. Hope this helps Sent from my iPadmabob using Tapatalk
  13. My RS has the holes marked out so when I get back home I'll measure them and let you know. As they are taken from the original suits I'm sure they'll be pretty accurate. In fact maybe I'll just pm you a pic too, for clarity. Nothing worse that trying to interpret, "10mm down from the higher front ridge when you're looking at it from the eastward return edge, crossways"
  14. My own opinion is that if an individual wants to spends ƂĀ£Ć‚Ā£Ć‚Ā£s, $$$s, Ć¢ā€šĀ¬Ć¢ā€šĀ¬Ć¢ā€šĀ¬s etc, to build a suit that pays homage to the anomalies then they should go for it, but should fully expect to display said suits on a mannequin at home or at a SW convention. I personally joined the 501st and UKG to put together screen accurate armour of the highest standard and troop with my Garisson with pride. The general public who like SW are unlikely to appreciate an anomaly trooper and will more likely see it as a Trooper that isn't quite up to scratch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Trimmed and taped ready for yet another final fit. Then time to add the cover strips and get gluing before thinking about the Sniper plate. I really hate that thing. It's so wide it's almost as though it was modelled to fit the thigh ridge!!!!! Then I'll be ready for rough strapping Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. I have all the split and double head rivets, lucky old stock in the imperial sizes are abundant in the UK. Newey snaps however are as rare as rocking horse poo. Luckily Prym 'Jersey' snaps are identical, apart from not having 'Newey England' stamped on the back. They also do an identical fastener for the elastic too Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Doh. I've been all over the photo section this morning too! Thank you (hangs head in shame) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. For the top front right of the abdomen and for double crotch snaps are these ok?. They're 15mm but I've seen different kinds on varied threads that look a smaller size. Can anyone clarify please? I'm getting near to where I can apply them and I don't want to get it wrong. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Forearms sized and taped ready for outer strips. Considering they're on bare skin and not connected to the bicep I think they sit ok. Feedback welcome please Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. Here is a quick layout of the majority of parts, as you can see I've trimmed up the biceps and forearms. Will get started on the arms properly today. Very exciting stuff, Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. If I can add some input on my own recent purchasing experience, I placed an order with RS and the armour arrived quickly, within 2 weeks in fact. Ok that's domestic UK courier but even with US postage that a much quicker turnaround. Drop them an email and they'll provide you with delivery costs and a price for armour which will vary depending on if you ask for rough cut (to complete yourself) or trimmed and fully strapped. The arms and legs will certainly be long enough for your height and build. Get a few prices from different providers, factor in how soon you'll have it and make your decision. Keep us informed Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. OK so I've just received my RS armour and bucket and haven't stopped smiling yet. I trimmed the butt plate to get used to the feel of the lexan scissors then started on the biceps. I've trimmed, fitted and taped them up and they fit a little snug, as I work out and have been blessed with guns, but I'm working on the premise that I can leave a 5mm gap that the cover strip will hide. Now I'm at the point where I'm wondering if I need to add a cover strip inside too or if it's only supposed to go on the outer part. The RS has butt joins so I may lose overall internal diameter and make it more uncomfortable. Do I need to do this for strength or screen accuracy or just go with outers? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Too late for pics of the actual boring but here's a pics showing the result. You can see the steps down in diameter.
  24. So, as an adult I'm used to using both zippers and Velcro but I wondered if there is a preference for clearance plus ease of use when trooping. I'm leaning towards a zip as I can imagine putting it on would be easy but I'm aiming for Centurion clearance and don't want to buy 2. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
