Interesting. Haven't seen that done before. PVC and Acrylic pipe would have been another option

Are power cells actually necessary to be screen accurate? Or were there also blasters with hengstler counter but without power cells?

^^ What jkno said. It was decided that these items just fell off, as evidenced by those pics of the glue still there, so all blasters must have them.
Just as there are slight errors with armour (no stripes, etc) the CRL doesn't allow for those 'mistakes' or 'accidents'.

C'mon... That's your bucket, isn't it? LoL
They were meant to be wonky weren't they? Matches my mind!

No, not normally. A lot of people don;t put one in as they have quite a thick wall, plus the plastic inner tube. The blaster will look better if you can incorporate it though.

Oooh. A spring in there. From Doopy, or a separate acquisition?

I have an inquiry at ATA, but.im worried the wait will be long.
I got some from ATA only a few months back. He was super quick in replying and shipped out in a few days.

Nice!

I've moved this to the sale thread. I'll leave it up to the DL on whether he wants to lock or allow pre-orders to continue.
I think you've moved the wrong thread. This one is still here.
Below one is on the For Sale section

Wow! You don't mess around...

I use Safari on a Mac. Don't think it happens to me. It is annoying Brian, isn't it?

Looks fantastic Tahitoa! Has to be one the best looking Rubies around. Sanding those bulging T-tracks makes a big difference, doesn't it?
If I were to change one thing, it would be to lower the angle of the clearing strip visible on the bolt. Theoretically it would be visible in the slot, so the angle to be lower at the rear.

And if I were to add one thing, it would be a little more detail on the magazine. Perhaps a flat plate and bubble on the end of the magazine.

Unfortunately, as it stands the Deployment Officers won't allow a Rubies for EIB or Centurion (maybe the length of the blaster has something to do with it), but a little birdie tells me there may be some changes in the future... However, I don't think ANY 'toy' guns will ever be allowed for Centurion.
Well done mate.

Dunno really. Probably best for PP owners or Sterling owners to answer. I know the PP are extremely accurate and not really sure if a Sterling will give you anything extra other than weight?? Although I guess it will give you the trigger, metal on metal feel with the end cap, etc. I guess, nothing beats the real thing, but the PP is darn close (for a lot less $$ and weight).

Tino's (T-Jay) completion set
together with Derreks' kit which is mostly, if not all, cast from an actual Sterling only recently
Will give you one of the best E-11s possible.
There is quite a few threads already in the build section using Phoenix Props or Doopy Doos and T-Jays kit. They all look awesome.

Nice work. Is that just a copy and paste of the page reference into the first post?
-
Looking at your build so far, looks like you are on track to reach EIB,
Not sure why (apart from the bendy T-tracks), but the current Deployment Officers won't allow the Rubies blaster. See below thread

Short answer - Yes, you can use it and it will be fine.
Long answer. There's an awful lot of inaccuracies with the airsoft, that unless you want something that will fire the pellets, you're spending an awful lot of money on something that is not as accurate as a $70- Doopy Doos.

Is there a photo of the AP notch in question someone can point me to?

I hope he doesn't mind me sharing, (sent in a pm) "Hey Eric, so the decision by Sly and myself is have the 22mm notch nearest the ab, not further back as originally discussed. We know this may a bit of work on your part however when it's completed it will look much nicer."
So if you need to have the armour with the extended kidneys, you will need to move the notch to the front edge of the kidney armour. 22mm x 22mm is what the notch needs to be in the end for centurion. Now this is extra work but I trust UKS and Sly with my life at this point and if that's what they say we need to do and what will look best that's what I'm doing. IF you need help please message me. I will be fumbling my way through this as soon as my armour comes in and will be happy to share my findings Considering I most likely now have 6 shims to make this fit me haha.
That's odd that one DO sets a precendence one way, then other DO's change it. Oh well...
Sly and Ukswrath - Are builders recommended to fill in that nice work Mark has done with the AP kidney plate to move the notch further forward?
It's hard to see actual screen caps of the notch as most are covered by the belt, but most images of the armour in the gallery actually show the notch right back at the join to the butt, not near the front. Can you clarify your decision here please so other builders who are using the 'search' feature can find the answer.
Marks (AP) pic below for reference

Scope is totally wrong too. Looks like a hybrid M19 and something else. Placed about 4 inches too far forward making the whole blaster look odd

Welcome Darren. A few locals here.... Enjoy the research process and don't hesitate to ask any questions.

What would people say to a prospective 501st recruit who has bought this armour? A new guy in our Garrison has just announced in his welcome thread that he has bought an Anovos helmet and Furry Props armour. I've been googling, to no avail until now...
Convoy for Cancer - Australia

The annual convoy raising funds for cancer families has about 400 motorbikes and 400 trucks travel from one side of town to the other. The 501st got asked to troop, but I wanted to ride in the convoy too. Combine the two!
Kitted as a snow trooper so I could sit and bend my legs properly I painted my helmet white (plasti-dip) and made a visor screen out of insect wire, painted white and black. My buddy, made a facemark out of a kids mask and a shortened cape for the ride - rest of costumes as per 501st. We then kitted up properly for the 'troop' after the ride.
Was a bunch of fun. The looks on peoples faces lining the roads! What? Has no one seen a snow trooper and Vader ride motorbikes before....
