Excellent work Nate! that makes perfect sense. The TB surrendering without the helmet is in fact a rebel in disquise just like Han and Luke in episode 4. Gosh its just amazing, I cant count the number of times I have seen this movie and you can still spot something new EVERY time you watch it.
Yup. It never ceases to amaze me the new stuff that's found, especially as the video quality gets increasingly better.

Thanks guys. I'd like to get into trooping. I have a wife and kids, so getting started is going to be slow. It seems like the 501st does alot of good work, and looks like alot of fun. I'm sure that my wife is going to want me to do "something" with all this stuff I'm about to buy so that it doesn't just take up space. I reached out to the Virginia garrision this morning (Tyrannus) and am waiting to hear back.
Good luck.

@tuskentrooper:Good update...but I think the whitematch is not good.Right?I think you need to paint the complete suit, because the ROTJ helmet and armor are the same white.
I think you'd need some outside pictures to determine that. There's some elites out there who depending on the lighting in their photos have horrible white matches as well but outside look seamless.
-
Well... pardon if I do the harsh-guy here but...
I think that Rubies shouldn't be 501st approved, but maybe that's too much for someone.
But what I certainly hope not to see is a Rubies pass as elite ROTJ.
Come on guys, ELITE! The best of the best!!! The Olympus of Stormtroopers!!!
You can pimp the hell out of an old Ford or Toyota to make it look like a Ferrari, but you won't allow it in a Ferrari club.
And for the same price tag or even more...
Hell, I'll reject for elite even FX armor and MR CE, but that's me, I believe in high standards.
I understand that someone who already bought it does his best to make it better and justify his purchase, but not Elite, please.
Considering this is a forum based on making fake "ferraris" that's a really bad comparison.

Now he just needs to run through a local forest in it to get that authentic "Oh my god the Ewoks are going to get me and turn my head into a snare drum" look.
-
Also you need to decide whether you want or care if the helmet is symmetrical which is not film accurate but looks more "real" or if you want a helmet that's more "warts and all" that shows the production flaws of the actual props. Considering you're starting with FX armor which is more stylized than more "accurate" armor, go with a modded MRCE.

Just to add, since I can't access the 501st forums yet. You guys need to be careful because there are discrepancies between trooper models between game versions. One of my friends on starwarsaddiction found that the wii/PS2 version Jump Trooper is completely different model than the accepted version in the 360/PS3 version which is the one the figure and all artwork copies. This is due to the fact that several different developers worked on each version of the game. The actual Lucasarts team only did the two next gen systems.
As you can see, the 360 version is the same as the promo art:
So I'd be careful creating standards from the lesser powerful systems, because they might not match the high end system games which seem to be what all the accepted art comes from.

Mine came today! Thanks much.

There are a few options you can use...
1, The accurate way and use clips to hold it on... not fully secure, but never had a problem with it trying to fall off.
2, If you have permanently fixed on the end caps, use can use screws to go through the belt, then into the canister.
3, If you haven't fixed the end caps, then you can use bolts (more secure way) to hold it onto the belt.
HTH.
I've seen some people use velcro along with the clips to help secure the 02 tank.

I'd be wary of the fact the seller has zero feedback rating.

I've seen bits of Star Trek but never watched a whole episode i think. No point either, can't beat Star Wars
This would have to be the pride of my collection
(Not a picture of my actual set)
I have that, but a year later I'm regretting it considering I have a PS3 now. That's a movie I'd like to have on BR.

Watch Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan. Nothing Star Trek will ever come as close to that level of awesome again.

Smitty's list of things he thinks Gino contributes to the hobby:
1. A good amount of knowlege
2. a seasoned eye
3. much much drama
4. the most unadulterated TK you can find
While I think Gino has some issues regarding human interraction, I respect his opinions and expertise. I am not happy that he is gone.
That's great that he's full of knowledge but does that excuse his actions?
I haven't seen much from him in my time doing research here that wasn't at some point either condescending or rude in almost every communication. He deserved being thrown out on his tucus a long time ago.

I'd also get a bottle of Novus ABS polish-- helps protect the plastic, and fills in any fine scratches.
You might as well get the big 'ol jug because you'll go through a lot of this stuff.

Edited with Accurate Information:

So with TK NEGATIVE 1, and TK-0000, that's a grand total of 10,001 numbers
10,001
- 6,636
3,365 available TK numbers.
Thanks.

YIKES!
Anybody know what the total of registered members is? There doesn't seem to be a lot left to pick from.

Yeah at best you might fetch a couple bucks a pop, none of those figures look to be in that great condition and are all missing accessories. I don't think any of them are hard to come by at all.

Hi everyone! I'm new on her but just finished my armor with the exception of my helmet. I have FX armor and helmet, and I have to say that the helmet is terrable. I hate it. The dome is oval and once put together the front and back are circlular! they don't fit together. Can someone help me with my frustrations?
you probably need to trim the front and/or back down a little. The FX helmet is a pain but its also like a right of passage.
-
I'd like a set of four and a can as well.
-
I know that AP is smaller than FX. I have AP because I'm 5'8".
RT-MOD is much larger and looks stunning. Go for it!
And it would probably take less work to fit it out for your size.
Also be careful, there are actually TWO Clone Trooper Blasters. The older one that makes sounds is the same as the Stormtrooper one. The one that shoots nerf darts is crapola. If you're going hunting for a Stormie blaster in the store be ready for a hunt because those seem to be shortpacked in the cases with the clone nerf blaster and the greivous one.
-
Doopey doos do a nice resin E11 finished or unfinished
yeah but doopy doos takes a while to get and he's on a short schedule.
-
what kind of blaster are you looking for? hasbro, converted hasbro, hyperfirm, resin kit?
If you're looking for a hasbro you can still get them in stores if you look. It'll have to be painted but it'll be quick and good enough to get you started.
