  1. Looks great! I will definitely be ordering!
  2. I'm going to follow in your footsteps Berbs! I'll hopefully soon be joining the EIB ranks!!
  3. Requesting 501st access (Thank You) TK-51113 http://www.501st.com/members/displaymember.php?userID=18226&costumeID=124
  4. Welcome aboard Kristi! "You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy".... No just kidding, everyone here on FISD is so helpful! You are in good hands!
  5. I'm using a TK build as a starter with hopes of progression to a Fett build. You say RS is working on one as we speak?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Oh yeah got that noted! I'm starting to get excited shooting for EIB build and hoping I can pull it off. It's tough reading the threads without the stuff in front of me to physically see! I build guns for the Air Force so I'm sure cutting and trimming some ABS should be easy compared to cutting steel!! 😃 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Hey Albert, where about in Texas? I'm in San Antonio and am purchasing an RT-Mod kit. Rob informed me I was up on his wait list so should be getting it in 4-6 weeks! I'm a newbie too and the folks here have been such a great help at helping us avoid some of the trappings that folks get into trying to get their hands on an armor set. Without them I would have blown $1500 on a garbage suit I saw that I thought was legit. Good luck to you sir! Chad Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Tim, Yeah I know I took a little time off around the holidays. However I'm back and now excited that this is finally happening! Luckily I found all these fine folks that are more than willing to help us newbies out! Good info on what specifics to give Rob. I had already made notes about the helmet mods and was going to bring those up to him. The painting of the inside of the lid black is a good idea also! I've been wanting to get into this for years now and I just can't believe that it's finally going to become a reality, can't wait to get out there and start trooping!!!! Chad
  9. Good day all! The day finally arrived when Rob from RT-Mod notified me my spot on his waiting list had come up!! Seeking the wisdom of you experts, is there anything special that i need to ask of him beyond his basic armor? Any upgrades that I should just pay now for to get them done that I should include in my order? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and have a great day! Chad
  10. Well my time has finally come up! Rob emailed me Friday to let me know that my place on the waiting list was up!!! Deposit will be paid Friday and in 4-6 weeks I will finally have my hands on my very first TK armor. Once again I reach out to you folks, the experts. I am going with the ANH Hero configuration. Is there additional that I need to request above and beyond other than the style. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Chad
  11. Well good luck on your promotion boards gentlemen! I test for E7 in feb/Mar timeframe so I'm hoping to make it and earn some extra spending cash! lol Chad
  12. Jim, He required nothing down to be placed on the waiting list. once your slot is up he requires a $250 deposit and then the rest is due upon suit completion!
  13. Tim, Man you are off to the races! Now I'm jealous! I plan on attacking my suit the same way, piece at a time when I can. I just had my third and final son last week so suit items are taking a back burner right now. My wife would probably throw me down the death star chasm if I came home with a holster or boots over diapers!! I already had a hard enough time getting her to buy off on purchasing the suit. I was going to go ANH hero myself! Have you reached out to your local 501st garrison at all? I have contacted mine and requested information on when they are getting together for armor parties and such so that I can begin to learn some of the tricks of the trade. Well I am looking forward to taking this journey together and can't wait to finally be "trooping" rather than talking about it!
  14. Dark, I am officially on the wait list for my RT-Mod suit. Rob has been awesome to work with! I would love to share a timeline towards completion of our suits. I must admit I'm a little nervous as I have never taken on something like this before. I had no idea the attention to detail that gets put into these suits, they truly are a work of art and I can't wait to call one my own. You are thinking along the same lines as me, get a piece here and there while I anxiously await arrival of my suit! Thank you for the advice and look forward to comparing our journey!!
  15. Finally heard back from both Authentic props and RT. Unfortunately for RT there is a wait list all the way till 2014 already! Is there really much difference between the two or is it worth the wait to get on the waiting list?? Need opinions from the professionals????
  16. Steve, Thanks for the link! I'm waiting to hear back as I emailed the contact for the RT armor and am anxiously awaiting a reply! I will definitely check in with some local folks. Thank you again for showing me where to start. Chad
  17. Very good food for thought! I want to get mine done before the new movies come out! Im definitely not above putting some work in to make it though. My plan is to get my kit and then find some local folks to coach me through what I need to do to get it approved! Thanks again for all the insight, I can't stress enough how glad I am I found this site!! lol
  18. Yeah tell me about it, when I first found it I thought, wow, looks legit!! Glad I found you guys. I fired off an email today to RT so anxiously waiting on a reply. My weight is distributed pretty evenly, I have the Air Force to thank for that! If any armor will work what in your opinions is the best as far as coming almost ready to wear? I actually just got in touch with my local garrison at the Texas comic con here in San Antonio on Thursday and that's how I found out about you guys! SOOOOO glad I did!
  19. I would like to begin this post with a big thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge with us new to trooping. Where it not for the hours I have spent pouring over the various threads the past few days I would have apparently mad a HUGE mistake purchasing my armor from stormtrooper-costumes.com. So a big thank you to all for sharing your experiences with us! I am desperately eager to join the ranks of you fine folks and I still have no idea where to start. I have been educating myself daily about the various makers of armor and the differences between them and am still not sure which would be the route to go. I am 6'2" and 215 lbs and was leaning towards the RT-Mod route as it appears tailored for us who are bigger than the typical 5'10" 165 actors used on screen. Any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Again HUGE thank you for sharing your knowledge and hopefully I can someday join the ranks!! Chad
  20. First off I would like to start by saying thank you to all of you for sharing your wealth of knowledge on these forums! I am an aspiring trooper who was very close to purchasing an armor suit from http://www.stormtroo...s.com/home.html. Thanks to you all sharing your experiences I avoided making that apparently huge mistake, so again I say THANK YOU! I have spent several hours (too many to accurately count) pouring over these threads educating myself on the various "vetted" makers and am still unsure on which route to go. I am 6'2" and 215lbs and am considering the RT-Mod route. I am completely new to this so the more complete I could get the better. Based on the experts which would be the best route to go? Thank you in advance for taking the time to help out a newbie!!
