  1. So, I have an iComm / Acker setup, and really enjoy them set up in PTT mode. However, one thing that just bugs me to no end is the inability to adjust my static burst volume separately of my voice volume going through the Acker. Has anyone devised a method of regulating the 2 separate volumes independantly?
  2. Think I want to make a wider belt too...the 1" nylon tends to sag too much under the thigh weight.
  3. I wear a 9.5 standard shoe, my boots are a size 9, and fit very well with a normal sock and orthotics.
  4. I have a similar build, I found someone with matching ABS and added shims...I like the look better than having a gap. I'm not too worried about the higher ratings, I just want to get out there and play.
  5. I can concur! Just got my TKBoots as well, Was told that if the size 9's I received did not fit, that I could return them, but it would be 8-10 weeks before he had a NEW RUN! Looks like he may in fact have a new source. I can not stress how happy I am with these boots, they look and feel fantastic, and now there may be a light at the end of the tunnel, and very much worth the wait.
  6. TKboots arrived today...fit great, look great, and almost 1/3 the cost after shipping...very very happy. FYI (possibly great news for anyone interested). During my email correspondence with him, he told me that he does take returns if they don't fit. but it would be 8-10 WEEKS BEFORE HIS NEXT RUN!! LOOKS LIKE HE MAY HAVE A NEW SOURCE?
  7. I thankfully was able to get a pair of TKboots...what a relief
  8. I picked up a kit from Evilboy as well...slick rig, very professional!
  9. Does anyone know a lead for a pair of size 10 TKboots by chance?
  10. just curious if these boots will work? -----------
  11. Looks good Rugbyrat, was curious what did you use to apply the paste to the seam? I know it seems like a stupid question and all, but I have been nervouse about doing this mod myself.
  12. A NOOB question regarding ABS paste...So as I understand the "making of" you want it to be te consistance of elmers glue? I would like to use it to fill the seam from shimming my kidney plate. Any recommendation on what to use to apply the paste to minimize sanding? Never made or worked with the stuff, and a little nervous to be honest.
  13. Could I inquire as to how wide your bicep cover strips are, and would happen to have pictures of them by chance?
  14. Ok...so here is my dilemma, my biceps are just too big for the armor to fit with a 15mm cover strip completely covering the ridgeline on the joins. What would be the best (501st acceptable) solution? 1) extend the gap, (making the ridgeline wider), and putting a 15mm cover strip over the join. 2) extend the gap, and putting a wider cover strip over the join to better match the width of the ridgeline (it would take about 30mm for me to get a decent fit...possibly wider) option "2" in my humble opinion would look better, but I want an approvable result that would allow me to troop official 501st events; or perhaps some of you fine gentleman with chronic gym habits could offer up a solution I have not thought of?
  15. Hey guys, I have been looking around for information on properly "dressing the edges" of my plates after trimming the flash. Is there a place here that specificly address a proper return on the edges of each piece of armor? I am specificly looking for information on the shoulder bells. I have found that the tops should be trimmed flat to the surface, with no return...but what about the bottom edge that goes around the bicep? Is it also a flat fit, or is it suppose to curve in at all? anyone have some pictures of how these edges should look? or a link to the appropriate thread I'm looking for? Thanks again guys.
