  1. I concur! Great looking build! Love the hand painted job on the helmet, looks very good and detailed. The above note is correct - on your right shin, you will want that opening to overlap to the inside- not the outside.

A few small easy fixes- at some point you'll want to use flat head screws on your TD, not Phillips. I read that you were struggling with the back plate sticking out to far away from your back. This may not resolve it but it might help: you left a LOT of return edge on the top of your cod piece. This, making he armor stand away from your body on the front - doesn't allow the chest piece to lay flat- which makes you have to compensate by pushing it backwards. Leaving a lot of space on the back plate

Now if you move it all forward a little it might make how the back plate and kidney piece come together change- butttttttt- it might be worth a try.

Excellent build- it's a great feeling to get it al suited up for the first time!!

  2. Ironically enough Joseph - I had been looking for a solution to this very problem. I had originally used very small strips of sticky velcro at the bottom, and top two corners of each of my lenses. During the SWW troops- I found that the extreme heat was causing the "sticky" part of the velcro to fail and started sliding--- making the velcro visible from outside my bucket. This seems like a perfect solution!

    Question- is it reusable?

  3. Really is up in the air in my opinion. Based on the pictures of their website - it will have all be necessary elements for basic approval. It also seems that with the correct building work- it could be approved within the FISD boards for the highest level of approval.

That said - it is all dependent on how the armor fits you - which is where most will lean toward you building a kit. Even with good generally sizing - most pre built kits will almost certainly not fit you perfectly and require rebuilding/strapping anyway.

  4. I'm on the wait list- and am still waiting. While I completely agree that Anovos being a new company and have their reputation on the line...so they will definitely take great care of their customers---- these quality issues wreak of poor production practices. It makes me nervous spending ANY money with them.

I will say I've purchased the OT kit already, but this thread is making me 2nd guess even that GREAT DEAL. wonder if it's worth waiting on the folks here to make a fan sculpt..

    Thoughts?

  5. After talking to a few people after today's troop- most say they've left theirs in the car while going to the park and the heat didn't damage their gear at all. I did hear that heat will speed up the aging process a little of the plastic- so some polish might be a good idea - but I left mine in the car. Fingers crossed

  6. Great question. And if you can leave a TK in your car- is there really and damage that could happen due to heat? I'd be worried about some of the soft rubber parts (brow trim, s trim for neck) but don't know if the heat would actually damage anything -

  7. Don't know that I could sum it up any better or add anything to that Ken except maybe to reiterate how well taken care of we were and just how much fun it was. The staff at Disney loved us and really treated us like stars- but it was the fans at the end of the day that really brought their passion and love for Star Wars.

  8. Wow, Steve and Vern both- as folks I truly see as mentors in my 501st / TK adventure, though I've never met you I like to think of both of you as a HUGE part of this new family I've joined. I can only tell you that both of you are in my prayers and I hope for both of you to have a speedy recovery. Please keep us all updated with anything we can do to help
