  1. I usually same something similar to this. 'We have other Legion members that have sculpted and molded the armor and each one of us trims the armor to fit our body.' I too like to avoid the word 'bought' as it makes it seem like we just went out and paid for finished Stormtrooper armor.
  2. Mine holds fine without glue. If you never plan to remove it than a little glue isn't going to hurt anything. But if it holds fine, which it should, probably wouldn't worry about it.
  3. Posted this on the Legion boards and got no love, so thought I'd cross post here to my brothers/sisters in white. Worldwide, 175,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year. And in the U.S., more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease—more than AIDS, asthma, cystic fibrosis, congenital anomalies and diabetes combined. The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. The St. Baldrick's Foundation funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. They coordinate signature head-shaving events and other fundraisers, giving thousands of volunteers worldwide a chance to raise money to support lifesaving childhood cancer research. St. Baldrick's events are the largest volunteer-driven fundraising opportunity benefitting pediatric cancer research. Here is where you can get involved! Members of the Wisconsin Garrison will be supporting/trooping a St. Baldrick’s event on March 16th in Fond du Lac, WI. A team has been created to help raise funds to donate to this great cause. A few troopers have also agreed to become a ‘Shavee’ and will be getting their head saved to show support of children with cancer. The team goal is only $1,000 and we believe that is reachable, but not without your help. Ideally we can go above and beyond that. Please click the following link and help us reach this goal. My personal goal is just $500. http://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/mypage/667847/2014 Team donation page. http://www.stbaldricks.org/teams/mypage/89209/2014 I would truly appreciate any donation you can make towards this great cause! Thanks! Dan Trippler TK10705 Wisconsin Garrison - Black Ice Squad Since my post we've actually past our team goal! BUT that doesn't me we should stop there. Any and every little bit counts; you'd be surprised the amount that could be raised if everyone donated just $1. So I'm asking you if you'd take a moment and help with this great cause. Thanks guys! Little nervous and freaked out about getting my head shaved, but I know this is a great reason to do it and for that I'm looking forward to it (and who doesn't want to see a Stormtrooper get his head shaved)! -Dan
  4. So currently my sniper plate is attached with a rivet on each side. Upgrading to level two and see that rivets shouldn't be there (not sure why didn't originally glue). So anyways, I want to glue it on instead but now I'll have a hole on each side. Will it not look right/good if I put like some caulk or something to fill the holes? Is that the only real option? Or another idea?
  5. We didn't want the Wampa to die from the heat so he didn't do full zumba, well he did do a little dance (the 'Wampa Dance' as we called it) before the actually zumba attempt. But of course I did zumba in my TK!
  6. "Zumba Day by the Bay" hoped to break the Guinness World Record for the largest Zumba class. More than 5,000 people took part...falling about 1,500 people short. Although the world record wasn't broken, another one was. The event is going down as the largest Zumba-taught class in the U.S. The Zumba event also gave back to the community. Participants were encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to be donated to local pantries.

  8. Yeah your thigh is on the wrong leg, gazmosis is right - it should curve lower on the insides - so therefore the battery pack would be wrong right now.
  9. Working on my NE kit right now too. On the ab buttons, trim those down - go look at reference pictures. I painted my helmet - except I do work in a sign shop so I was able to cut out the tube stripes from sign vinyl. Thinking of making cut-out tube stripes to sell as I don't know how others cleanly do this. Seams on your under suit might show, if they do you'll have to find something else. You can wait until you're more into the test fitting to see if you have to go get something else. I got mine from east bay - they have lots of sales and you can get them cheap. Cut the shoulder straps down - see reference pics as they are pretty close to the bumps - and yes one end will have a larger bump, that side will attach to the front. Good luck with your build. And look into hooking up with members of your local garrison as most will be more than willing to help you out. My stuff sat out over a month because I didn't know where to begin - then a local member helped me get started and I've been working a little bit each night.
  10. I just opened my NE box last night. No they do not include TD clips. I'm having TK Bondservnt 2392 make mine. Look him up. He's got a thread where he makes and sells them.
  11. It's NE. Looks like a lot of people are just now receiving this 2nd run of armor so should be lots of building threads popping up soon.
  12. Looks like a lot of people will be getting their NE kits in the coming days (mine should arrive tomorrow). Hope to see lots of building threads because as of right now a little anxious to get going on it and have no idea really what I'm doing. Been looking through lots of threads but will be different once I have armor in-hand.
  13. So my armor is scheduled to arrive Tuesday and as I'm looking through threads preparing myself I find myself wondering why there isn't a master step-by-step on building armor. There is just so much searching to do to find about trimming to strapping to everything. I know each armor from different sellers is a little different but it all generally is to end up looking exactly the same (say if your doing a general TK stunt). So why can't there maybe be a YouTube video of making a full armor? Show each step starting with say the forearms and trimming and glueing and everything to complete them. Then another video working on another part. And yes there are multiple ways to do each part of building but just show one way for those of us that are kinda clueless and we can make changes as we're going if need be, but at least it's a direction to start with. And maybe it's cause I don't have armor in-hand but looking at pictures can be really confusing and video seems much better. So I think I'm just really nervous/anxious to receive my armor and start on it, but just wondering. Thanks. -Dan
  14. Should be getting my NE armor soon and will keep an eye on this thread.
  15. Nice build. Should be getting my armor soon and will definitely use this thread for some reference.
