I'm very glad to say that I have now done my first official troop and what a day to do it on! It was just simply AWESOME. Luckily the weather held up for us while on the park for the day, so no need for the swim wear (this time). There were 3 of us newbies on the Monday, including another TK. We started the day doing some spotting for the guys on the park, learning the ropes as we went on. I couldn't wait to get myself into my armour. After lunch we got kitted up and were branded with our UKG decals by our guests from the Malaysian Garrison who trooped alongside us for the day. It was an honour. My ROM/FX also arrived on the Saturday, so I didn't end up going the silent trooper. Took some time to find my voice out there though, but I eventually did and boy was it fun . I felt like a celebrity the entire time, you couldn't go a few feet without being asked for pictures. The Star Wars soundtrack playing throughout the park the whole day only added to the magic of the day. It was fantastic. I couldn't stop smiling the whole time (even in the photos ).

So what did you all think about the new teaser for Episode 7? Personally, I thought it was AMAZING. Still can't get my head around how Chewbacca hasn't aged a day Plus, I think the new Stormtroopers are looking awesome. Looks like I'm going to have to start saving for one of those now

It's a reference to one of my all time favourite movie lines from one of my favourite movies (other than Star Wars of course), Army of Darkness. It's the classic line, "This is my BOOMSTICK!" Not a very interesting story at all, but I was surprised it wasn't already taken by someone

I'll put it on the to do list

Sorry for taking so long to reply, been caught up with school work. The arms are biceps don't have a hook, they are held up by a piece of elastic which goes across the ridge on them. I did notice my thighs were a bit too high It is a bit hard to move in it as is, let alone doing stairs! But practice makes perfect, or so they say

After all this time, I am proud to say that I now own myself a set of RS armour. However, I did end up cheating and paying extra for the commissioning fee rather than build it myself. I am surprised by how well it fits me too. It doesn't feel loose or too big in areas nor does it feel too tight or small. But hopefully, I'll get to do the next one properly!

What the hell is up with the crotch area in the first pic :laugh1: And he clearly shows 3 different sets of armour in the listing, so which one would you get if you bought it? It's just embarrassing!

Good Boots in the UK
Boomstick replied to Boomstick's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
Thanks for the advice. Should I go for the Angelus White Paint or Tarrago White Dye? Which gives the better result and requires the less maintenance? Also, can I use the Angelus Paint on the elastic or do I have to use fabric paint? -
Hi All I was wondering if you had any advice on boots to buy in the UK. I know that there are quite a few options available and I wanted to just run them through with you. I know that the best boots available are TKBoots, yet they are having trouble looking for a new supplier. These were my first option, but I'll wait until they get a new supplier for their boots before buying any. So I thought I'd come to you guys for some help on my choices. The first is buying Chelsea/Jodhpur and dying or painting them white. I've seen the tutorials on this already but I am not sure on what is the best product for the job in the UK. The next option is buying some boots of eBay. I've found a few sellers, but they are all in the US. Here is one of them: -------------- Are there any other options to go for? Thanks

This is not the armour you are looking for. Move along.

Skunkworks Props E11? Is It Any Good?
Boomstick replied to Boomstick's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Is it worth getting it then? Or should I get a Doopy kit instead? I'm amazed that you guys can tell the difference between the blasters! -
Can't wait to see the finished build. Looks amazing. Good Job

Skunkworks Props E11? Is It Any Good?
Boomstick replied to Boomstick's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
How can you tell it's a DoopyDoo kit? I don't really have an eye for telling one blaster from the other. All I know is that Doopy kits don't ted to come with a scope rail and this one does (I think). Mathias, you have a real good eye for this kind of stuff (telling different blasters apart from other ones). Thanks -

Help Out A New Member Who is Yet to Own Armour!
Boomstick replied to Boomstick's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
Ruck, try RS. They make really good armour and offer an assembly for it (at an extra £200). You can also buy loads of kits as well and assemble them yourself if you want. There is a post an FISD that should help you out. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/
