  1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ytCEuuW2_A I'll trim the others and do it again!
  2. Is this correct? It is what I believe to the right thigh. I took pictures of the front and back. I only roughly trimmed it. For some reason I could not get the pictures to rotate correctly. Sorry for the sideways pictures.
  3. Thanks! All of you have been a big help! It seems obvious now. I will post pictures after my initial trim.
  4. I have not updated in a long time, but I have made progress. Forearms and shoulder bells are done. Biceps are drying. I was going to start to trim the thighs when I confused myself. I had the thighs straight when I unboxed and I should have wrote on the inside which was which. Now that it is go time, I am not sure which is which. Help please!
  5. I, also, am a big fan of the books. I have read a lot. Some of the books are horrible, others are written very well. I think my favorite is The Thrawn Trilogy. Kenobi was a good recent book. I also thought Tarkin was well done. I've slowed down a bit though. During The New Republic Era it just seemed like a Solo or Skywalker always saved the Galaxy, not always, but enough to make it to predictable.
  6. *Sigh of relief* I'm so glad I have you guys to check with! Thanks! Now I can finish off the other sides!
  7. So, I ripped off all the strips, cleaned up the dried glue, and resized the strips. I glued only one side of one forearm. How did I do this time? Trimming on the edges still needs to be done.
  8. AHH, they are to big. Damn it. Ah well. I used E6000 so I can just rip them off, cut them again, and reglue them. I knew something felt wrong.
  9. Perhaps it's the angle I took the picture? I will remeasure.
  10. I have some minor trimming to do, but the glue is dry and the forearms are pretty much done.
  11. I actually ended up trimming them down a bit more. I do not have the correct gloves yet, but I test fitted them with very similar gloves I use at work. The glue is currently drying on my left forearm and the right is done. I will post new pictures when the left dries. Thanks for all the advice!
  12. I made my first cuts. How is the forearms supposed to fit? I have been using trooperbay's video and he stated that the sides are 5/8ths and he used 5/16ths shim. I know he is using different armor, but mine seems big. Up near the elbow seems to fit fine, but could be trimmed down more if needed. The wrist seems big, but I'm not sure if that gap is supposed to be filled by the glove?
  13. I just realized I neglected this thread! I finished the helmet and I dirtied it up. I decided to just make this helmet for display. I am making AP armor for joining.
  14. I took off the left tear and repainted it. I touched up some of the others as well, but I just can't seem to get them to look right. I may just use the stickers for approval and keep practacing my painting skills untill I'm confident that I can get it right. Thanks for the advice Ian and Steve! Also, Steve we are almost neighbors! I'm in the Elgin area.
  15. I just got my Authentic Props kit this past Friday, so of course, I jumped right into building it. I started with the helmet since I had it trimmed for me. I got an ATA helmet a while ago that I trimmed and painted, so I went the easy route for the helmet this time. The kit comes with stickers, but I did a fair job on my ATA, so I'm painting this one. I did use stickers for the tube stripes, though. I tried, I don't know how many times, and I could never get them right. I just gave up! I know about the mic tips that comes with AP. I will either buy new ones or switch out the ones on my ATA since that one is for display anyway. I'm still deciding if I should go dirty or not. I got some time and the helmet is an easy fix if I decide to change it. So, how's it looking so far?
  16. So, I have not posted for a very long time! But, I have everything for my helmet nearly done (I got a bit side tracked) and I was thinking of weahtering it to make it a sandtrooper helmet. Is a sandtrooper helmet just a stunt that has been weathered?
  17. I did not see an equivelant for Model Master paint for the gray on the helmet. I have... ----------- I think it is a bit dark, but I'm not 100% sure.
  18. I, for some reason, am having a terrible time trying to square this tooth. How is it looking so far?
  19. Both eyes out and I knocked a tooth out. I was going to do more but that damn sleep is getting to me. In pandatroopers tutorial he has rounded teeth. But most others seem to have squared teeth. Does it make a difference or is it personal choice? And thanks for the link to your build!
  20. I was going to just cut out both eyes, but I dedicded to chck to make sure I was on the right track. I tried to error on the side of caution and any imput would be appreciated. The first picture has the tools I used if it matters.
  21. That was the picture I was looking for! I am using pandatroopers build as a guide, but in his he never actually shows the bottom like the picture you gave me. Thanks!
  22. I'm not to sure how much to trim off the bottom of the front part of the helmet. How close is the neck trim supposed to seat to the front? I can't find any pictures of the bottom of the helmet. Can someone point me at some pictures of how the neck seal is supposed to seat?
  23. Here's my first attemt at a Helmet build. Just got my ATA helmet kit the other day and this is all I trimmed. It's getting late and I'm a bit timmed so the going will be slow!
  24. What's your clearance level?
