Looking good! I'll admit I laughed when I saw the flexibility test on the handplates. Otherwise the boots are looking good! Can't wait to see them finished.

Personal suggestion on the helmet hose: maybe you should shorten how much is sticking out? At the moment imo it doesn't really look believable that it would fit inside in comparison to the other side where it is concave and ends much earlier.

I probably can, just don't want to screw it up and make it worse. The paint is really stuck to the leather so i cant take any off.

I'm not sure about the neck seal, it looks like a hero variant. I got mine off trooperbay for about 50 and it is fully woven, no leather. http://trooperbay.com/stormtrooper-neck-seals/
As for the armor types, ANH Stunt is most popular one seen in A New Hope. It features a long, grey frown, hand painted decals, flat dark green lenses, and latex handplates.
ANH Hero is an ANH Stunt with a shorter frown, bubble lenses, different style ears, and different neck seal.
ESB is an ANH Stunt recolored with a black frown, vinyl decals, different style holster and clamshell handplates.
ROTJ has so many differences it is hard to cover here,

How do these look? I have about 4 coats on them, don't know how I feel about them. The cheapo walmart brand brushes i got kept losing bristles in them, but you cant see them in the pictures which makes it better. Here they are as they stand. Do they look alright? Any advice on any changes?

The amsterdams are a good choice, the deer stags are just a budget version.

I saw those same 'Deer Stag' boots last night while searching for men's Chelsea boots. Price is right but some concern whether they might be slippery according to one reviewer. But then again seeing how much the actual stormtroopers slipped and skidded around that could be accurate!

Didn't even notice this. Yes, they are slippery, but they have a rubber heel which keeps them stable. I went running in them the night I finished them and they held up fine, running up and down hills and streets without issue. You just have to watch your step on things like carpet. Hope that helps. I was wondering, since nobody seems to use the chat on here, if there was somewhere where people in the 501st, garrisons, etc have some sort of real-time chatbox or the like to talk about anything in real-time rather than the boards.

Took some nail polish remover to the paint i got on the heel, it took off some of the polish but it was worth it, MUCH less noticeable than the giant white smear on the side.

Touched em up a bit, but for the most part the paint didnt want to come up. I think they will be fine, you can only really tell if you get up close and personal with them.

And here we are, the grand reveal! I went through with an exacto knife and scored along the connection to minimize paint peeling, i will probably need to go through with a smaller brush in the areas i couldnt reach with my sponge brushes and touch it up with white and then clean up the soles with paint thinner. There wasn't any cracking or peeling that I could see when I put them on and walked around with them from what I could see.

Haha yeah, my impatience combined with a free day really got some progress going. Now that I think about it I could probably put the last coat on now, its still warm enough.

I'll likely go off of Brandon's recommendation and use this fabric dye off amazon.

Coat 4, last of the day. If I get time tomorrow I will put on coat 5 and see if it looks good, if it does i'll move to touchups. Otherwise i'll go all the way for 6 and then touchups.

3rd coat, I expect 2 or 3 more will be needed.

Checked on the boots again and they seemed completely dried, no smearing or removal when i touched/scratch at it. So I went ahead with the second coat. In comparison to Brandon's thread further down I was pretty light on my first coat so I used the paint more liberally this time around.

Very light, rough first coat on now. Going to check on them later once it gets brighter/hotter and likely put on the second coat.
