  1. In the same boat. I'm going to get a FX Lite kit and just had my MR CE lid arrive this afternoon. Looks pretty nice, but with the modifications it will look much better. Pretty tight once my head is inside, but I think I can make all the mods I plan to do fit. Good luck with yours! DD.
  2. Outside of the lid on the FX, looks good for me. I got the MR CE bucket (should have it today if UPS decides to show). So now I just need the ...fun stuff. UPS just showed up! BRB...gotta check it out.. DD.
  3. Now I wonder what we can do about that two-piece joint - it is a little annoying. I'll find out in a few days when my comes in, but I wonder if it can be filled in like the frown? Should just sculpt something and offer it as a modded piece. Shouldn't be that hard?? DD.
  4. Sounds like I won't have any problems. Now just need to get it in and start the long haul. DD.
  5. Great. Thanks everyone. Much appreciated, it makes it a little easier. DD.
  6. So a trim and a shave and I should be good. I like the idea of the larger bucket to allow the mods I plan to install (every conceivable thing I can put into it!). Okay, so I'll cut my teeth on the FX and when I win the lottery or lose a leg at work and get comp I can buy a better suit. Thanks Scott! DD.
  7. Dead set on price right now . But, still a nice chunk of coin to drop on something which may or may not fit me well. What I'd like to know is how many on this board have FX and are around my dimensions? How much work is it to make the FX looks good? Any help is much appreciated... Cheers, DD.
  8. Sorry. I've looked, but nothing really addresses the right fit for the FX armour. To the point, I'm 5'11" and around 180lbs. I've heard that FX is for the larger trooper. Will I be swimming in it? If not, I guess I'm settled on getting a set (thanks for everyone who's helped me in my decision making!). But I just want to make sure I'm making the right decision. Cheers. DD.
  9. Pretty good at explaining the whole process. Liked what he did with some of the attachment - will have to try those when I get my suit.
  10. Could someone PM me if they know the cost of the RT-mod lid? I've emailed him, but no response yet, so I'm assuming he's flying around. The reason for asking is I'm putting my budget together for this whole thing and want to know if it’s in the cards (i.e. I get a FX lite kit with a RT bucket). Once the budget is done, I'll have to of course transfer that to a PowerPoint presentation and bring it to the committee; which oddly enough consists only of my wife. Go figure. Thanks... DD.
  11. I think its a mixture of a click and a static burst. Funny, all the clips I've searched and remember have the click/burst before they talk. The famous 'Look Sir, droids' line has a slight burst after the officer speaking (The tracks go off in this direction) and then a static burst before - "Look sir droids". Look Sir Droids Now I'm confused. Eitherway, its sounds pretty good. DD.
  12. Hi. Just curious. Does anyone have either of these and how are they? Are they worth the extra expense? Once I do get my TK armour I'd like to mod it out with some type of amp system. I can get a mini-amp circuit board locally for about $20. But I will not have the static-burst unless I write my own programming and somehow imprint it onto an Eprom on the board. So...$20 vs. $120. I think I know the answer..the static burst makes the whole thing. But the added expense topped with the price of armour. Well, lets just say my wife doesn't share my enthusiasm for Star Wars. So I think you know where I'm going with that. Actually, does anyone know of another unit which offers the burst at a lower cost? I've only found these two so far. Thanks... DD.
