  1. Found it! It was on the IOC board and it was Glen. I'm sure he'd throw some loop straps on it by request, if you asked.
  2. I seem to recall Glen--gmrhodes13--offering them up in vinyl. I can't find them on this forum so maybe it was on the 501st...or JRS...or IOC. LOL I hate when that happens and you can't quite remember where you saw them. Maybe PM him and ask directly?
  3. Except...when the SE-14r is shown in the promo shots with the Hero trooper, he is NOT wearing a "standard" E-11 holster: Looks the same style as SiMan/RS Propmasters have in their collection. With that said, I can attest that it does fit fine in a standard E-11 holster. I am starting to look for someone that make one of this type in leather, though.
  4. Great resource--I think a lot of people getting into this hobby should know this up front. I think you should also add a couple optional accessories that many troopers end up adding: namely an audio system and helmet fans. One adds to the ambience and the other is absolutely necessary in certain climates and troops.
  5. I kinda wish it had a little more prominent and rounded set of cheek tubes like the original. Right now it screams "motorcycle helmet", but I'm sure it'll have a different vibe when viewed with the whole armour. Of course, what makes it memorable is not the perfection and form of the armour, but what the characters themselves exude. It's the storming of the Tantive IV or the droid search on Tatooine that etches the character of the stormtrooper in our minds. I think having actual actors in the armour will go a long way into making the modern stormtrooper a successful descendant of the original.
  6. Looks pretty cool to me.... I can't wait until we have kits available--whatever they end up turning out looking like.
  7. The artist who drew that image--Tom Hodges--says: 1. I won't reveal how I saw the Helmet 2. It was a PHYSICAL helmet, NOT CGI 3. I will do a new version later Take it for what it's worth....
  8. Okay, this drawing may have more validity...maybe? LOL Kind of a cool streamlined look, for sure. http://instagram.com/p/rkJAnrHmDA/
  9. Possible new stormtrooper with one-piece visor?? The rest of the armour looks very ROTJ, to me.... Source: http://makingstarwars.net/2014/08/photo-stormtrooper-star-wars-episode-vii/
  10. I thought it looked more like FX to me.... In any case, I cringed when I watched it on the PVR yesterday. LOL
  11. In looking at the top picture, does anyone think it may be a bundle of wires. Not too dissimilar from the wires for the E-11 Hengstler? I hate to ramble on in my own post, but I was just looking at the lefthand side of the resin blaster and it IS pretty plain so I could totally understand why they would want to enhance it a bit.
  12. I like this picture because it actually shows the SE-14R holstered:
  13. I just picked up a beautiful Shawn Morgan cast of an SE-14R and am currently getting it ready for use. I have to say his rendition of this blaster is VERY clean and worth the price, in my opinion.... With that said, I've heard some people ask about a greebly on the left side of the blaster that is readily apparent in the frontal picture of the promotional Hero stormtrooper. Does anyone know what this could be, or more specifically, what it would be made from? Perusing through The Prop Den on Facebook, I managed to find another angle of the blaster showing part of the left hand side. In addition to the upper greebly bit, there appears to be another squared off addition to the magazine receiver. Any thoughts? BTW, thanks to The Prop Den for providing higher-res versions than what I had!
  14. What I find great is that if we wore those boots now, we couldn't pass muster for Centurion. In about a year from now when we've all seen full pics, we'll be clamouring to source out a good vendor in order to bedeck the feet of our next-gen TKs. Exciting times!
  15. I like using nylon webbing for my snaps. I take a solder iron to burn a hole through and melt it to keep it from fraying. I find the webbing allows you to glue onto curved areas easier. The E-6000 soaks into the webbing as well--giving you a nice strong bond.
  16. Walt on these forums is your guy to contact....
  17. Well looking into this, it's definitely not ANH, but SE.... http://www.starwarshelmets.com/original-TOUR-stormtrooper-armor-helmets.htm
  18. I think the white gap in the frown is fine as many original ones had a gap there in the paint. I think maybe it's just that the grey is a touch too thick and doesn't follow the frown line as well as it could.
  19. I hope so....
  20. Nice! It doesn't get much better than that!
  21. Congrats and welcome (officially) to the Badlands!
  22. That is awesome...great work!
  23. Also, it should be said that eFX will actually be offering a replica of that exact hero armour from Tantive IV to collectors: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/24516-efx-stormtroper/
  24. I just made a simple belt sewn with a wide elastic for each leg. They are secured with a pair of snaps on the thighs. That way you put your thighs and belt on first and it is very secure. I'd be reluctant to snap directly to the ab. Of course the original strapping employed a belt with straps directly glued to the thighs....
