Wooo! My laundry shot made it to the newsletter! :-D
I'm in love with those UK mini troopers!

This is the greatest *$&%^$ I've seen in a long time.
Amazing.

PM Sent. Local help is on the way
Nice work Leonard. I've been talking shop with Brenton. He's very eager and very excited to get rolling. Let us know how it goes.

Welcome! Hope you had fun at DC. It looked like a monster of a party.

I call the stormtrooper the "gateway drug"... Once you get it finished and see the reactions from people you might get addicted... It's a blast for sure.
There's tons of great info on here. Take your time and feel free to ask questions.
Welcome to FISD!

I took a dremel to the back of mine to shape it out quickly. It definitely helps with mobility unless you're tall and it is a nonissue. Then about a 400 sandpaper to start with. moved up to 1000 to finish.

You could always replace at least the helmet and tweak out the rest of the suit the best you can. Or if you get new armor down the line (once the wife sees all the awesome reactions from people in person she might change her mind) then turning this into a mash up type suit is definitely a great idea.
I just saw photos of the TK getting attacked by the ewok suit at DragonCon this weekend and that was a brilliant one.
Definitely check out the spec ops group for advice and your local garrison for armor parties to make some friends.
All the best on your build!

TK is definitely the easier of the two. I can suit up in the TK by myself, and very quickly compared to Boba. Mobility and visibility isn't as good as with Boba, but that's really the only trade off to me.
Good luck with your build! We're here to help if you need anything.

Ahaaa, must have been very tired this morning.....I only just now saw that you have both uniforms;-)... COOL!
Haha yup! Working on more as well. Be careful this stuff is addictive!

Fett AND a TK? I like your style!

Bummer Rob. Hopefully the fool will move on to something else soon (or get caught)...

I'm on Eastbay as well.

Nice work. What's the next suit on the list?

Split down the middle. I enjoy my smooth AP, but I like the idea of real troopers being a little beat up, asymmetrical, and worn. Granted I don't think any military would allow that to happen on THE DEATH STAR, but out in the field it's cool for sure.

Shot this the other night for a friend's submission for the GISHWHES charity photo hunt... This year? A TK doing laundry in a laundromat...
It was just me solo with a tripod and remote. Some neighbors caught me setting up and I said "I can explain..." and they laughed and immediately wanted photos with me. One of the girls is in costume design so she had a "laundry load" of questions for me. I took some shots with them and then they went on their way and in the distance I heard the guy yell "My neighbor is a F@*% stormtrooper!!!"

Do you have any pictures of the cut on the back so we can get a handle on the problem?
I use a pair of screw snaps on my ammo belt (one on either end of the plastic area in front) to attach and help lock the belt into position against the ab plate. There should be tutorials on here showing that method. Of course it could depend on that cut in the back on how to line it up and to see if that method could help your situation.

Nice work!

Congrats guys!

My first suit was a modified FX and I went to town on it trying to get it looking good for approval. You're off to a good start for sure.
It looks like you have snaps or some visible connector on your shoulders. Can you lose that, fill the hole, sand, paint, and glue them down in the front?
Maybe a shim for your sides to help close that gap. You could maybe even trim your kidney at the top to get it more flush against your back plate.
Also the shoes appear to have a black/gray stripe and those should be solid white.

Someone PLEASE post that up on MEPD for a laugh...
