Yes It does Look good. I am all for durability as well, I think i may be over reacting a bit, so ,I will post some pics later of the kit installed.
Oh, Yeah By The Way... I was approved into the legion the other day...YAYYY CT20421...yeah baby....
I know the feeling with over reacting. There's a sense of anticipation and the hype around the maker/vendor, and then if you see any sort of imperfection, you feel let down.
It's happened to me as well.
Wait am I talking about a prop builder or the prequels?
Anyway congrats on the approval! Wear it proudly and kick butt!

I've seen other troopers with complete and WIP RS and I've noticed it can be thin in places. You could always try to reinforce it to combat potential damage.
My AP is ABS and has taken a couple cracks (one from sitting on a merry go round) and I've been able to patch it back up.
To me, RS just looks so freaking good. The RS next to your other helmet is hands down the winner by sight. At least to me.

Welcome Chris! I troop with a lot of vets and local law enforcement. They love playing plastic space man just as much as we do. :-D
All the best on your build!

Mystery solved! I'm told it was Al here in SCG. That's his R2 as well. Al is awesomesauce.

Speculation being said, I would imagine this being DISNEY it was an official thing... :-)

Hmm I don't recall a troop request for something like that (and I live in Burbank area) but who knows. I know some organizations have reached out to troopers directly before and tried to go around SCG command so it could happen.
I've only been around a little over a year though, so if it happened before my time and this is just a rerun then there's that too.
I can ask around the local crew.

HWTK! Not a bad first suit and we need more of them.
Welcome aboard!

Excellent read always! Thanks guys for the hard work.

Divide and conquer! Take your time.
I think I started on biceps first. Feel free to post up photos of the pieces you are having a harder time identifying.
RS is fantastic armor. It will be an amazing finished product.

Had a fun time with TK-10427 attending Long Beach ComicCon this weekend and Saturday we went as Daft Troopers. Another SCG member and myself have been working on the helmets and gloves for the past three months. We also had a Daft Punk mix on our Aker speakers split mono L/R between us and synced.
We documented quite a bit of the builds and will probably slap a video together and post whenever we finally get some sleep.
The dusk photos are by Mark Edwards and taken in front of the convention center.
A guitar and keytar were most definitely harmed in the creation of this mash up.

If you end up on a wait list for armor you can always start a blaster build to help kill that wait time.
All the best on your build!

ARMOR PARTY!!!!!!
Congrats and all the best on your build!

Welcome, Sean!
There are many types of people on this journey... I also did mine with a kid in tow, so to speak. Many guys seem to jump in moments before their wives give birth haha. Don't worry, it's going to be the most fun you've ever had!
QFT!!!!
I bought my first armor when the Mrs was about 3 months pregnant. Haven't looked back!

Greetings and welcome! If you're in the Southern California area, feel free to introduce yourself and keep an eye out for the next armor party. You can see builds up close and learn from other TK's on some useful tips.

All the best on your build!

Do you have access to local TK's in your area? I always suggest finding a local armor party if you are starting out and making some friends. Your local garrison should be able to help.
It's a huge help to be able to see finished gear in person and ask loads of questions. Most troopers gladly trade knowledge for beer.

I think most people will agree that it's more about finding the best armor that fits your body type. Both RS and TM are very well respected armor, so I would ask specifics to both makers about how they think their armor will size up on you.
I would also research on FISD for build threads to find people with similar body builds to your own to see what they went with and how they put it together.
I have no experience with originalstormtrooper.com, but at a glance I am very wary. I'm sure UKG troopers can offer up their thoughts.
Good luck with it. You're definitely on the right path to ask questions first before opening up your wallet.
Greetings from CA

Hi Ed!
Make sure you sign up on the So Cal Garrison forum as well and feel free to introduce yourself there. We have a number of spec op guys that I know would be happy to help.
