Its also good for removing stickers and adhesive, which I wonder if it'll neutralize dried e6000... That'd make armor disassembly much easier..

I left polyethylene (stuff model car kits are made of in a bowl of thinner and it melted like creamer in coffee in about an hour. I would assume hips would too but there shouldn't be any problems thinning paint. It'd have to be full strength to have any effect. Bonus factoid: you can use Everclear in many cleaning ways and I use it to catch a buzz while soaking my paint brushes in a glass of it

I leave my bicep return edges on but the forearms just enough to be comfortable. Nothin over 1/4 inch except the elbow area so it won't jam into my elbow. It makes the gloves harder to put on but also doesn't shift around

buying your armor built is like the teens that buy civics with motor swaps already. you did none of the work, it doesnt fit you right, and (insert satirical joke about "swag" here)...
youll feel more accomplished and the armor will be more form fitting when you do it yourself.

you dont need to go on set, just hang around bumming off the craft services table

way to necropost guys.. in other news the walmart 2oz tube was enough for the whole build. needed to get another for just a few more snap plates.
-
eggcrate foam from packaging/shipping boxes. you can also go to walmart and find rolled strips of good foam, i forgot what aisle but it said it was for air conditioning vents or seals or something.

did you use backing washers? i bolted mine on with little nuts and washers so its still removable if need be

General assembly or armor related things Id ask here, but when it's TX-specific, spec ops is the way to go.
Do you not see the ugly seam on the front of the ones you posted? That's what makes them unapprovable. The bass' are slightly more triangular in shape than Chelseas but since boots are so limited these days they still pass for specialist.
Don't skimp on the boot price. It's enough to want to save money on a cheap pair just to pass for basic approval but you'll want quality and comfort that comes with pricier kicks. keep in mind you'll be walking around for at least a few hours in them

Both of you gotta stop posting the same threads on both boards like your going to get more information lol

Sand it down with 400 grit, then 1000, then polish the area.

Yeah your arm fat bunches up and you get bit
-
Just go with what works but stretch the wrinkles out in the exposed areas like elbows and knees for approval pictures. Comfort matters
-
Lowes or ace hardware, look in both plumbing and electrical conduit sections, be sure its not pvc glue. Id suggest use e6 for your whole build since its your first, and you can always move the snap plates so the armor fits your body better

Hospitals. You don't have to troop, just walk around. Make sure there's extra blood on your armor. Try going around the psych ward!
Just use common sense lol. Obviously dt's aren't kid friendly, but there's probably someone with a haunted house that could hire you. And body language is important around youngins. You can cover the zombie mask part with your hands as if you're more afraid of them so they'll open up a bit. Or dance around happily like a clown, not doing Thriller or jumping around like a maniac. You could even simply stand still the whole time so if they see you're a prop, they might be more willing to get in the picture.
People got to realize how important body language is.

Gaz pretty much said it all. I would suggest using white primer if you can find it, but using grey you can tell if the main gloss is even all around. Just depends on your painting experience. I've done full size cars to plastic model kits for years. 2 different worlds those are.

The cold weather one has the mock neck, the evapor has the crew neck. I have the mock but I don't notice any difference in material. They say you have to be running or working to generate the heat and the cold gear just holds it in better.

Eastbay evapor compression gear ftw.

Or white electrical tape and a gold chain to bring back the Adidas trooper

There's a tutorial on how to make abs paste somewhere around here. if you really really can't do it in time there's always clear packaging tape for the outside and duct tape on the inside. They make red duct tape but Idk if it's the same shade as the armor. The public isn't going to be checking out your legs. Mostly they look at the helmets, chest, blaster, abs, the fact that you're there pretty much. It's when they see your face or Velcro popping out somewhere that takes the fantasy out of perspective lol

Lol if you have armor problems just talk to me. Sand the area with around 200 grit, get some scrap abs the length of the crack and wide enough the join the sides. Sand the contact side. Get a metal ruler or equivalent and a heat gun, heat it up and fold it with the ruler enough to fit the curve then glue it in with e6 or abs paste. Then fill in the crack with abs paste and smooth it over. sand until smooth, then finish it by sanding with a finer grit like 400 to 500 and paint/clear it or just go 1000 grit and polish it to a shine.
inb4 someone says just contact the maker for new pieces.

I have the answer but I'll wait to tell you. Is it hips or abs

I liked their early work. They came here but I didn't bother to see them, now As Venice Sinks, that's what I like now.
