  1. That is interesting... The med-bay looks a lot like the med-bay on the Enterprise NX-01. Still no luck on my part. The search goes on...
  2. No problem. On wookiepedia, I read that the pauldron was red for medics, but I wasn't sure if it was a mistake or a different era reference. I will keep looking, but it does not bode well. This would be an ideal time for C-3PO to chime in with the odds! LOL If I can't find anything else I will stick with the phase II medic, Kix... I have a few projects to keep me busy, in the mean-time: 1. I am building a TK hero helmet for my brother; 2. I have all the references I need to begin building my life-size R2-D2; 3. just for sh!^$ and Giggles, I am pepping a set of storm-trooper armor... you never know. If nothing else, it will make a cool static display. Next month, I am going to put my order in for a set of ATA armor, so when that comes in, some time in February, (he has a 16 week waiting period, now), I can begin assembling that for my 501st membership... CAN"T WAIT!!! Well, don't give up, battle-buddy! We'll nail this, eventually. I will continue to look, and I will check here religiously to see if anything new has been posted.
  3. Thank-you for your interest... I did find that article earlier, and I have never seen that medic, before. He is pretty cool, but not specificaly what I was looking for... the search goes on. Thanks, again!
  4. Yep, so the 501st has a spot for Kix, but absolutely no info or pictoral references... but I know we are looking for a phase III medic with a blue cauldron, so I will try to stay focused!
  5. I will be gratefull for all the help you can give me,cause so far I haven't squat on a white phase III medic with a blue pauldron... Just the phase II from The Clone Wars.
  6. This is a link to starwars.com, where the same image as above is used to reference the clone trooper named "Kix". He was a clone trooper medic... I love the paint-job, and better yet, he has a medical pack. He makes multiple appearances in The Clone Wars cartoons on Cartoon Network. I am sure I could get him into the 501st, since, technically, he is already a member (during the Old Republic). http://www.starwars.com/explore/encyclopedia/characters/kix/ So, what do ya'll think?
  7. Here is one medic, but he's a clone... pretty cool, though, huh?!?
  8. I like the idea of a TK medic (white armor with a blue pauldron), better than the idea of a novatrooper-medic (with black and red armor). It was cool to see him and I think it is great that the expanded universe has created so much variety, but I don't like the color scheme of the nova-medic... No offense to my brothers in black or red, I just find the white armor more appealing. I am 36, so I have been drooling over the white armor for THAT long, now. I think I will research the blue pauldron medic and see what I come up with. If I can find three references, I will post them here for deliberation. Thank-you for being interested!
  9. That was great! I love Star Wars fan-films. Some are really lame, but more often than not, you get to watch some great stuff.
  10. I am eager to check out the nova-trooper medic at the 501st, but the site must be down, or something cause google can't find it. In the army I was trained to be a soldier first, and a medic second. The two weeks I spent in the field earning my Combat Medic Badge was a real treat compared to some of the other things I participated in... you gotta have guts to stand on the front line, un-armed while people are shooting at you. Thanks for all the help, everybody! Nova-trooper medic sounds like my kinda trooper. I will dive into the Spec Ops section of the 501st as soon as I can.
  11. Hello everybody! I wanted to ask if any of you might be kind enough to point me in the direction of a TK Combat Medic... or has it not been done? I thought I saw a picture of one once, but it didn't look FISD approved. I have to wait till November to order my ATA armor, so in the mean-time, I am filling my head with knowledge, and exploring every option I can think of. A TK Medic has appeal to me, because I spent four years in the Army as a Combat Medic. I can't recall seeing one in the movies, ( and I have watched them all like, 100 times), so I would imagine that if one existed, it would come from the expanded universe. I know from the books that the phase I and II troopers had medics, so it stands to reason that the Phase III's would have them, as well. I will look forward to hearing from you!
  12. ...AND, if you are pepping a larger piece and you need it to hold its shape, like say a chest piece, you could either use a strip of cardstock or even a small wooden or plastic dowel to keep it where you want it. Just cut the material to the desired lwidth, and glue it in place to stabalize the form. Once it is fiber-glassed, you can remove the braces... you won't need them anymore! Good-luck!
  13. WHO got a PM about WHAT?!? do you mean TM got MY PM? Cause I sent him one... He hasn't gotten back to, yet.
  14. I am happy to see somebody doing a pep build. I am on the fence, myself, but really want to build my own armor. It's just a rush to build something with your own two hands and then take a step back and see what you've done... Keep up the great work! I can't wait to see the next update!
  15. I have been doing some research whilest speaking with you, QHG, and I have zeroed on the TM armor. Is there a difference between TM and TM ultraflex? Everybody is bragging on TM's armor, so I have GOT to have it... as soon as it becomes available, of course. Does he just post his sell threads on the FISD, or should I watch multiple sites? I am also a member of therpf.com and thedentedhelmet.com
  16. Please forgive me... I am not being lazy, I just can't find a website that sells that stuff. Am I gonna have to just wait till it is sold on FISD, or am I missing something?
  17. OK, good people, if I am gonna be financing the Death Star, anyway, are there any ANH kits out there that are ABS, screen- accurate and strong as a wookie? Cause if I have to buy somebody elses, I wanna be able play football in it. I don't want to buy something cheap to start out with that will crack if I sit down in it. If you could give me a name and price estimate, I promise not to go postal. BTW, you have all been so very kind to me, and I am grateful.
  18. $700.00?!? Where is a Womp-rat when you need one? I feel like shooting something!!! That is a lot of money for me. It'll take me a year or more to come up with that. Well, it's like my father always said, " Building armor aint like dusting crops, boy! With-out precise calculations you could fly thrue a star or bounce to close to a super-nova and that would end your trip real quick!" All is not lost, though. I will remain in your company and piece my suite together piece by piece... PEACE!!!
  19. can you give me a cost number? I am gonna have to write this on an envelope and stick it in my sock drawer until I have enough.
  20. This is a fun Topic. I picked my screen name because I love Mandos, and I wanted to sound like a tough-guy! Plus, the Clone Wars ended only 18 years before ANH, so during that period, you have to imagine that a good number of veterans are Mandos. And my screen-name on therpf.com and thedentedhelmet.com is "Cadeus." That one is a long story: 5 years after RTJ Han and Leia get married and have three kids- Anakin, ( which is MY son's name, BTW), and Jacen and Jaina. When Jacen is about 25 years old he is seduced to the dark side and becomes Darth Cadeus. His fall from grace reminded me a lot of Anakin's fall. He fell because he believed that in doing so, he would save the galaxy from itself... and it would save his daughter, Allana. Is this is news to any of you, you have GOT to read more! In the last fifteen years I have read over 200 star wars novels. It has been a fun ride... like DAYS OF OUR LIVES, but with lasers and and hyperspace.
  21. You guys are awesome! Thank you all so much for the warm welcome. I can't wait to be a part of the team... I will heed all of your good advise, and I believe it may be in my best interest to save up and buy a kit to start with. I'm not chickening out, it just seems like a wiser choice when weiging the pros and cons. So, if you don't mind, Could anyone recommend a good kit to save for? (Something with some weight to it. I don't want to feel like I may break it if I sit down or trip.) The helmet I am working on, now, is for my brother, so I need a bucket, too. ANH Hero would be my first choice. I don't need an E-11 I already have some awesome blue-prints for a PVC re-production... Thanks again, everyone!!! I love you, already.
  22. I didn't think it would be, but it just might... my break-in project was an iron man mark iv helmet. I spent 2 bucks on the paper, and about 1.50 on the ink... 5.00 on the glue and then I had to drop 20.00 on the resin and fiberglass. I haven't even started to bondo and sand; then I have to paint it. It will have cost me about 50 or 60 by the time I finish it, and could buy one off e-bay for about the same.
  23. Thank-you for the info. And I am happy to be here. collaborating with persons who enjoy Star Wars as much as I do is a real treat! Once I am a trooper, I will be in Force-Heaven!!!
  24. That armor is really great! I am very happy for you. I chose to build my own armor, but I can't tell you how tempted I am to drop the $ on some pre-fab. I have a few more months of building, sculpting and detailing before I can submit my app for troop membership. There are quite a few drama queens running thrue some of these threads. Sometimes I wish I was back in the army, where everything is dress-right-dress. I hope you enjoy every moment you have in your armor, and when the drama queens start screaming, just tap the clip on your bucket, lock-and-load and aim down-range!
