  1. Jordan, I agree with Brian. I am build my RT-Mod and I started with the biceps and then the forearms. I am now attacking the thighs. I used the over lap method on the biceps and forearms. On the forearms I am using velcro on the back seem. Other wise I could not fit my hand in very well. For the thighs and shins I will use the cover strip method. Hoping to have the whole thing finished by October (would be much faster if this darn thing called life would not get in the way and if I have a few more clamps and magnets ) keep up the good work
  2. Looking good! Keep it up!
  3. Looks GREAT! Need to step up my build! Congrats!
  4. TK build going slow but steady.........

  5. Guys I work with call me MAYHEM (partly due to having the last name of May) since MAYHEM is usually a popular online name and taken most of the time I followed it with my initials
  6. Good wishes sent to you and your family. I hope the force is strong in this newling.
  7. Scott So sorry to hear this. I can not believe the lack of honor of some people. I know that Lewis has made new tools and sound like he is producing. I know that I am not part of the 501st (yet), and I have just started my build my RT-Mod. But if you were to need to you can barrow my hyperfirm until you replace your E-11. I work in Livonia so not to far from you. (I looked up your profile on the Michigan Garrison Site - I really am not trying to be a stalker). May the wamp rat that swiped your blaster be shot by a passing T-5 in beggers canyon. Mike
  8. Well I finally took the plung! I did my fisrt gluing today on the forearms. I used the over lapping method and will be using velcro on the under side so I can fit my paws it them. I starting fitting the biceps and I have a question for those more experienced. Here is the bicep I taped and tried fitting. Over lapping them here with the rigde of the under one showing about 1/4 of an inch on both sides. Is this acceptable, or should I but them up and use larger cover strips. Also is it OK to use the over lap method and the cover strip method in the same build or should it all be the same?
  9. Rick That looks awesome! I hope mine turns out as well. Congrats Mike
  10. Well I looked at it all again and the shins may not need as much work as I thought but I will still need to shim them a bit. I am very new to this whole but I will do my best to show all my progress on this build. I will be trying to lower my density as well during this build as well, so I do not have too much black showing between the ab and back plates. Noah I may take you up on your offer for help, thanks! My daughter's soccer and softball schedule may slow my progress at first (this coaching thing takes up a bit of my time lol) On my way to a soccer game now. Later all: Mike
  11. Hello all: After many weeks of waiting, reading, collecting needed parts, more reading, collecting more needed parts, even more reading, collecting more parts - not so needed but really wanted, and then more reading......... My box finally arived! RT-Mod from Rob. Boy was it fun to finally get it and unwrap every thing. I maybe strange but I hope I am not the only one to immediately have to wear the helmet around the house a bit. The wife and daughter are very tollerent - actually the daughter thinks it is pretty cool. Well I was kind of fitting the parts to me as I was looking at everything. I am a bit large for a typical trooper (6'2" about 270lbs) but I am steadily working on the weight part. So one thing that jumped out at me is the shins. I do not really have calves, I call them full grown cows. So when I was wrapping the two halves of the shin around one of my ham hocks I am sure some shimming is needed. (about an inch or so) Can anyone point out a forum link (I have been tring but can not find one) on methods how to best do this. Or any advise would be greatly appreciated. Everything else seems OK (need to whitle my middle a bit more) - maybe a question on the chest plate but will address that later. Thanks for your time and look forward to hearing from you all. Mike (hoping to be able to insert a TK ID number here soon)
  12. Kendell I wear a size 11 and ordered a size 11. When they showed up I was worried by everything I read about them running big. They are slightly big but like everyone is says a bit of padding should make them prefect. I have not really gone out with them yet still in the building process myself. Actually gathering process LOL hoping the armor ships soon. Hope this helps. Good luck
  13. This looks AWESOME! Great work!
  14. Hello all, During my waiting period between ordering the armor kit and receiving the armor kit, I have been reading, collecting and planning. My questions to all is electrical. I planning on installing fans in the bucket but not sure how I should power them. Should I go 9 Volt, of 2 or 3 AA batteries. I am sure this is a basic question but I am chemical not really electrical. Thanks for the help Mike
