I'd buy an exotic pet. Like a Llama or an Emu.
-
Welcome aboard.
-
I never even noticed we could change the theme before.
-
If they were priced better they'd make fun targets. At a couple hundred yards they'd look accurate enough.

The ends of the knee plate should not taper but stop vertically.
The knee belt is a bit short on each side, and the radius of the bottom corner could be slightly bigger, as well as the attaching rivet painted white. The snaps for attaching the holster to the belt is wrong. But you can easily fix that by using pop rivets to hold 1 half of the same kind of snap to the inside of the belt. Just use the snap as if it was a washer.
And it's a little hard to tell what hand guards you have, but if they are of the flexible kind I would say you should glue them down on the gloves a bit better around the edges.
Made these fixes. Put a larger radius on the knee belt, I guess I'll need to buy a replacement if I want to make them longer.
I've been having problems with the handgaurds staying glued down, even with using insta-set and super glue like the maker recommended. Trying one more time with that before I switch to something else.
I'll work on my belt later.

It was great to be home for it this year, but I didn't get to eat even an ounce of Turkey.
Ok, can't really complain, we did prime rib instead.

Too bad about the headpiece, Ahsoka Tano is pretty damn cute.
Problem solved. Apparently she was going to surprise me and has already ordered most everything she needs for a Juno Eclipse. She let the secret slip when she asked me if not hearing from a vendor for a few weeks after sending money was normal... Yes, yes it is in this hobby.

Welcome aboard, Nate! Your armor (and Tony's and Antonio's) will set new standards for what a TK should look like in our garrison, and to me that is really exciting.
Couldn't have done it without your help. Seeing yours was the push I needed to finally finish mine.

Centurion isn't for everyone, but there are some bits of it that everyone can enjoy and benefit from even if you don't go all the way.
By all means, let me have it. I'd love to hear any advice or tips you have for improving the armor and my wear of it. I'm a little over critical of myself and looking at my pictures I see a bunch of little things I'd like to fix. I honestly expected to log on this morning and have a list of items I would need to fix for approval.
-
If you're looking to go for centurion I know there are a few things you should mod first though, if you're interested in hearing those.
I'd appreciate the tips, but I'm still not sure I want to go Centurion. I need to get over not liking the visible rivets in the side before I make that plunge.

Very good. Approved!
Awesome. Couldn't have done it without all the great build threads and advice. Thanks FISD!

Yeah I don't see any problems assuming your lenses are indeed green. Post up a picture of that and you got your approval.
Oops, missed that. I just added it to the first post. Thanks.

Not happy at all with any of the action shots I got. Will have to try to get some better ones.

It's a shame this one came out blurry as I don't think I ever want to do that again.

I am trying to get my wife to dress up, but she wants a character that does not have a helmet, mask or wig.
That's my wife's biggest hangup. She loves the look of Juno Eclipse(though she has no idea who she is) but doesn't want to wear a wig or dye her own hair. She doesn't care for the standard Imperial officers or any of the flight suited characters. She's not a Star Wars fan so she thinks the costume has to be cute.
I guess she can always join the Rebel Legion as Juno and we'd still be able to troop together.

I think taxpayer support is probably the USPS's biggest problem...
Operationally the USPS nets a profit every year. It's only since 2006 when Congress started requiring the USPS to pay about 5.5 billion a year into a fund for retiree health care that it's been in financial trouble.
This article explains it a little... http://www.pbs.org/w...-service/11433/
If the USPS were allowed sever their ties to the Government and the Unions I think they could potentially be a very profitable and successful company. To me the service they provide is invaluable. I can send a few pieces of paper to just about anyone in the world for a few dollars, or anyone in the US or APO system for less than a can of soda. I've had a much better success rate with them than any of the other major carriers, UPS, Fed-EX, DHL, etc... They've currently got some very business smart people at their helm, but with Congress' thumb on them they are limited in what they can do to save the company.
anywho... back on topic... Doopydoo's-Great product, horrible costumer service.
-
It is no wonder the USPS is going out of business. They would have been dead and buried long ago if it wasn't for the fact they are a government agency funded by our taxpayers dollars.
The USPS isn't funded by taxes.

My wife seemed really interested in joining up for a short while but the interest faded. I think once I get a troop or two in she might reconsider it, as she thought it would be fun to troop together although I really doubt that is something we'd get a babysitter for.
-
5'10" and 170 and ATA seemed to fit me very well. No weird trimming or shimming required.

I think if you compare the overall amount of stormtrooper fans who wear TK and TD just to be part of the 501st to the ones whos attention to detail leads them to EIB and ultimately Centurion, I think you will find that the number of "regular" troopers far outweighs the ones that choose to be "elite". There are those who choose EIB but say "oh, Centurion, shmenturion. This is good enough."
I fall into the Centurion, shemnturion category. I'll go for EIB, because I'm pretty sure mine is built to that standard anyway, but I will likely never go for Centurion.
I'm sure I won't have much to fix when I submit for EIB and looking over the CRLs, I think I'm only missing all the visible rivets, the visible crotch snaps, the 1 visible ab snap, and I used pop rivets for my thigh ammo pack, everything else is to Centurion standard...
...but, I know this won't be a popular opinion, but to me the visible rivets detract from the overall look of the suit so I didn't put them on. I know they are screen accurate, I won't ever argue that, but I just don't care for them. They chip away at the suspension of disbelief for me, they don't look like they belong on an advanced set of body armor and they make it look more like a costume hastily thrown together to film a movie that the directors and producers never imagined would be looked at still by still 30 years later in high definition by a rabid fan base who wants to painstakingly duplicate every detail.
Of course I'd also like a completely symmetrical helmet without the look of hand painted details so you can just ignore most of what I say and dismiss me as a crazy person.
So anyway. I hope the EIB doesn't go away as I think it does produce a better standard suit that should be recognized without going the fully screen accurate route.

Thanks, everyone.

Finally approved!
Thanks to everyone here for all the build threads, tutorials and advice. I'm proud to officially be a member of this community and the 501st. Can't wait to get my first troop in.
I'll be donning my armor sometime this weekend to get my EIB submission pictures taken. Thanks again for all the help, I couldn't have done it without you, FISD.
