Which seem to work out better? Pros n cons? I will hopefully be getting a bucket soon, but am on the fence on whether to pad it or use the hard hat liner. Any input appreciated. thanks guys!

I would be interested in the anh dome only if thats possible, after the three slots are filled will you be doing any more runs?
Im not going to do another run most likely, but if someone needs something, ill do it with no problem! Just a dome is also no problem.
heres some pics of one i pulled out of the mold this morning. this is straight out of the mold, using bondo resin with a color additive.

Hey all, I know this is the stormtrooper board,lol, but,i am in the process of casting a couple of vader helmets for fellow fans. It started as a Don Post Classic action helmet, that i then modded to have the dome sit lower and on the correct angle. i also made the wearers right "tear duct" a bit more prominenet. The dome has also been reworked with a nice sharp center ridge and was also converted to an ANH version. I can alter a casting to be any of the OT versions youd like. Im only going to do a few so im opening this thread for 3 people!
raw casting: $175 + shipping
finished version $450 + shipping.
heres a pics of a facemask casting, and the modded dome i used as the plug for my mold.
heres a ROTJ im working on, you can see the mounting system mod here. Its the same style as the stock CA, but much lower.
here are a couple of pics of the helmet this was cast from so you can see how the dome sits.
If anyone is interested, reply here and i will add you to the list.
When the casting is done and ready to ship, i will contact you for payment via paypal(preferred, and i wont charge any extra for the fee) or US Postal Money order.

welcome PJ! i see your not TOOO far from me! i need to find some trooper friends near by! I JUST got my set of fx armor. no helmet tho, prolly looking at getting an AP till TM has some available again. Good luck with your build! Im going to start mine soon!

NICE! im glad someone deserving got it! I saw that also, but just didnt have enough cash to grab it. If you sell the helmet i may be interested. Wouldnt be hard to convert to an ANH right? Congrats dude!

how did this work out? i was thinking of doing this once i get a bucket. i was planning on painting the details so i figured id do the cuts, and then paint the details on. not sure if my head will generate as much heat as yours, but i figure more ventilation cant hurt!

i got an FX kit (the whole thing), and i agree that the bucket is too big... my plan is to "convince", or, um.. use the force to "convince" my brother to get an FX headless kit, then sell him my bucket, so i can get an AP or TE2 bucket!!! but, like you, i should've started with the FX headless kit!!! you're already a step ahead of me!
heh yea, i was doing some research while i was saving up the cash to get the armor. There are a couple that were more accurate than the fx, but man, expensive! For the most part i like the look of the FX armor. For the money i think its the best i could get. I was lookin for an AP or TE2 lid myself, so hopefully ill find one soon!

so dude what armor did you get or are you still in the process of deciding what to get???
Im actually getting the FX armour from deckard on this board. Looks like ill have the cash together by tomorrow. wooo! Im gettin the headless one, as im looking to get a more accurate looking ANH lid. So im still on the lookout for the lid, if anyones got anythin let me know!
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! im sure im gonna love it here! Ill prolly have alot of questions at first cuz im not that familiar with all the details of the armour from different makers. The FX armour always seemed good to me, i just never liked the huge bucket lol. I like the ANH stunt look the best. When i think stormtrooper, thats the look i always think of. Im probably gonna need help on how to make this ANH accurate, so im sure this will be fun!

Glad to have found this page! Ive been wanting TK armor for years but it just was never in the budget for me. FINALLY ill be getting my first set of armor very soon and am very excited about it!. I already have an ESB Vader suit about 95% done. just need the capes, boots and shins, and a nice saber. But ive always wanted to be a TK, so im sure this will be a fun trip and i will learn lots more than i already know! Looking forward to making Elite status and joining the 501st as a TK(and an SL).

This is the one i made, featured in the helmet section of the STT forum. im making 3 helmets to sell (ROTJ,ESB,ANH)and thats it, then 3 for myself(ANH,ESB,ROTJ) and im taking a loong break lol. Im selling these at "normal price" to help pay for what i put into all the supplies and to help finish off my TK, and Vader costumes. thanks for the support guys n gals!
