  1. Are there any good tutorials on how to install the ammo pack to the right thigh? Thanks!
  2. After gluing the finishing strip to the front of the left thigh, I noticed a small problem. There is a small space between the two pieces at the bottom. I came up with a solution to just glue a small piece of plastic on the inside so you couldn't see through the space. Thanks! -Dom
  3. The thought for the suspenders were for the ab, kidney, and butt plate.
  4. I still haven't decided to go wether I should go with a suspenders system or something else. What do you guys reccomend?
  5. Ok, I still don't understand how to bend the prongs to prevent the split rivet from falling out (and securing the elastic in)?
  6. I was planning on putting a snap plate on the crotch tab and connecting the butt and ab plate with elastic that way. Will that work?
  7. I just put a split rivet in the crotch tab and I don't know how to set it. How do I bend the prongs on the rivet? Thanks!
  8. For the lenses, I am going to cut them to the shape of the eye holes, but a little bit larger than the eye holes.
  9. What type of glue do most troopers use when glueing the lenses and the (frown) mesh inside the helmet? Thanks!
  10. What do you mean by excess strapping material? Is it like the material below? This is what I was talking about. --------------- Do I have to worry about the snaps "melting" (or warping) the armor if I do this?
  11. I have seen snap plates made two different ways. What are the pros and cons of making snap plates out of plastic? What are the pros and cons of making snap plates out of fabric (webbing)? Thanks!
  12. Thank you guys so much! This helps a lot!! Carlos, where can I buy the plastic parts (I don't know what to call them) you have on the belt used to hold up the thighs? I am planning on using something like this to hold up my kidney, ab, and butt plate. Thanks!
  13. I need some ideas for the inside strapping system. I need to know the different ways of holding the butt, kidney, and ab plate to my body. Please post pictures here of the inside of your armor so that I have visuals of the strapping system inside to go off of. Thanks in advance!!!
  14. I am having a problem understanding the belts effect on the ab and kidney plate. Will the belt pull them together in which case the kindey plate will be overlaped by the ab plate? Should I connect the ab, butt, and kidney plates together BEFORE I get the belt and start fitting it to me?
  15. Thanks Carlos! Congrats on finishing the armor!!! I was there on Saturady! It was awesome!!!
  16. Sweet!! Thank you! Should the top of the kidney plate be at the same height of the ab plate?
  17. Ok, I need to finish trimming one edge of my kidney plate. Once I am done with that, I will line it up with the ab plate and then line the butt plate up with the kidney plate. I will then buy the belt and then I will start working on that. Once I am done with the lower torso armor, I will start on the chest and back plate, or should I start with those before the ab, kidney, and butt plate? Also, you send the back plate should come down lower?
  18. I won't trim anymore! I will use the foam becuase that just seems more logical to me. Can you guys help me out with the alignment with the back and kidney plate? What do I need to do about that gap? Also, is this statement correct: "No matter what size, I will always glue the first 5 ribs on my shoulder strap to my chest plate and always cut the large tab on the back."
  19. I have started to fit the armor to my body and I am having some trouble. Keep in mind that I am just holding the armor (expect for the painters tape on the shoulders) 1) Any adjustments? 2) Does the back plate need to be lower?
  20. I need some help with the Kidney plate: 1) Which side is up and which is down? A or B? 2) Do I trimm the all of the return edges on the top and bottom of the Kidney plate? Thanks for the help!
