Thanks MINUTEMAN! I was kind of aware of that. Oh well; it is what it is. I have been modding it (CHEST & BACK) significantly with sheers, dremmel and hot iron. If nothing else, I'm getting CLOSER to screen accurate. Thanks again for the support! Jason

PICS were submitted and I was APPROVED!!!! Based on what I have been told, there are only a small handful of us EP5 TKs here in So CA. I still have some small mods to make, and I would like to eventually submit for CENTURION; however, for now.....WOO HOO!!!

Pandatrooper's AM build thread[*AM]
obrotherracing replied to pandatrooper's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
I know this is an older thread, but HOLY SMOKES!!! What AWESOME mods you've done. Great job. I need to try to emulate some of these tips/tricks on my AM. Thanks for the inspiration. -
Thanks for the input everyone!!! I'm hoping to submit pics by this weekend!!!

Here's where my SCOOTCH ESB Bucket it; I feel it's complete, but I'm going to leave it to the seasoned experts. All decals, except for on the earcap/rank square, frown & vocoder (used TESTORS). Mic Tip screens were taken from actual sink faucet aerators. Lenses are deep, dark green, single piece. Trying to decide if I do the foam "star" or the helmet style insert for inside. As usual, any input or constructive criticism is ALWAYS welcomed!! Thanks....

Got lots of help with the SCOOTCH bucket; even from SCOOTCH himself!!! Will be doing some color/wet sanding this evening, as well as HOPEFULLY painting of the vocoder and ranking on the ear caps. I will get a couple of progress pics for the post.

Armor Party - Huntington Beach, CA
obrotherracing replied to obrotherracing's topic in Forum Help & Support
Just a REMINDER!!!! Armor Party Saturday, June 8th 11AM - 4PM 19381 Shady Harbor Circle Huntington Beach, CA 92648 ALL BUILDS WELCOMED!!! Would love to see TK, Vader, Mandos, IRONMAN, HALO.......Anything and EVERYTHING!!! -
So I recently purchased a SCOOTCH helmet kit from someone on the RPF. My questions are these: 1. What are the specific screws used for the ears? 2. How flush/even/lined-up does the opening/neck need to be before putting on the neck trim/molding? I searched multiple threads, but couldn't find anything that answers these two questions; not to say that there ISN'T one though. Thanks in advance!!

I know it's not a TK, but I am now an OFFICIAL MEMBER of the 501st!!! BH32571 - Jango Fett (AOTC-Arena). WooHoo!! Next Stop....ESB Vader and ESB TK!! Jason

Just wanted everyone to be aware that there will be an ARMOR PARTY on Saturday, June 8th, 11AM to 4PM in Huntington Beach, CA. If you've never been to one, these are a GREAT opportunity to see (in person) how some of the seasoned builders perfect their craft. This is opened to ALL ARMOR BUILDS, not just TKs. I have it posted on the SithLords boards, as well as TDH and TheRPF. PM me or email at obrotherracing@msn.com for the address. Drinks (H2O, Soda, Beer) will be provided; as usual, we'll collect $$ from anyone who would like PIZZA. Hope to see you there!!! Jason

Maybe we (those of us needing to trim up a bit) could jog in our armor!!!

Helping a little girl that was bullied for liking Star Wars
obrotherracing replied to RogueTrooper's topic in Announcements
I'm a bit "Tardy to the Party," but this is one of the BEST stories I have read in quite a while! The support of groups such as FISD, TDH, etc. for their mini-troopers is phenomenal, and (as already shared by others) is why I enjoy being at least a small part of the SW Universe. I think either an Annual Armor Charity or even an Annual Scholarship on behalf of the 501st would be great....and in direct alignment with the mission. Either way, I would support in any way I could. Great Job to everyone who made this happen for Katie, and gave a spiritual lift to everyon'e faith in humanity. -
COTF CONival - Huntington Beach 2012
obrotherracing replied to obrotherracing's topic in Field Training Exercises
Rob - Great meeting you as well!!! I still have a few tweaks on my ESB TK, so maybe I'll be trooping with you at some point. Jason -
Just wanted to share a couple of pics from the Huntington Beach CONival, one of the stops of the Course of the Force Relay down to SDCC 2012. I (Jango) just happened to run into a TK. Does anyone know him??? It was small, but pretty cool! Jason

Ralf - Whadaya know....I'm a member already. I forgot! LOL!! I will update my profile then get some info on the armor party!! Thanks for the heads-up.
-
Ralph - That's Awesome!!! I was contemplating it, but a $500 price tag is a bit steep for me. Though it's not totally out of the question right now. When will they find out their segment??? Keep me updated. Would love to meet some new people out here. Jason

Though I'm happy with my results, I realized there is a more efficient way to do the THIGHS and SHINS. Unfortunately I learned this AFTER building mine. Anyone know a good resource for replacements??? I posted in the BUY/TRADE forum, and unfortunately AM does not produce "pieces." Any help or direction is GREATLY APPRECIATED!! Jason
-
Anyone in the So CA are going to any of the Course of the Force CONivals??? I will be at the one in Huntington Beach!!! If you haven't heard of it, check it out... www.courseoftheforce.com Jason PS: As soon as my wife gets home, I will do some updated pics. My mannequin is WAAAAAYYYYY too tall to see what the armor accurately fits like now.

Sorry, found the answer myself regarding the kidney and ab plate lie-up.
-
Ok... Cut 1.5" off of the top of each thigh; I CAN WALK NOW!!! Does the kidney piece match up perfecty with the AB section??? I'm thinking about shimming and connecting them (as long as I can still squeeze into it. I'll get pics up later.
