  1. Is there a chance someone can look into signing up for Tapatalk. It is free to add the board to the tapatalk application. It offers a lot of functionality for mobile purposes. Although users have to pay 5.00 for the app it is great because it will remember your log in for each forum that is in the app. http://www.tapatalk.com/index.php
  2. Saw this and thought it was funny: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Storm-Trooper-Armor-Yellow-/320786284207?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ab05a3eaf 501st approved! No really I swear it is.

  4. I can tell you from my own personal experience that getting armor off of ebay is at best a horrible idea. I bought my armor on ebay before I knew about FISD and I have had to make more modifications and spend more money than what I would have had to do if I just bought it from one of the guys here. And I am about to spend more money on it right now. Not to mention buying armor built and fitted for someone else is a bad idea. You have no idea if some of the parts he has fitted will be too small for you then you end up spending more money replacing parts. that armor looks as though it was made from shiny paper. It looks rippled from not being sturdy enough or it just wasn't formed correctly. I am still a rookie at this but I can tell that it is crap.
  5. Oh I'm not buying it. I have another helmet I am picking up friday.
  6. Thanks for all the input fellas! I think after halloween I am going to tear down the thighs and redo them. Now to get that scuff off the right calf.......
  7. You know since I found this place I like to post in here because I feel I got a little jaded after buying my armor on ebay. (This was before I fonf you guys.) But saw this and thought I would post. It actually looks like a good helmet. Thoughts? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Custom-Star-Wars-Sandtrooper-Stormtrooper-helmet-w-microphone-trooping-/130584916556?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e6777b24c#ht_500wt_1413
  8. TK Boots on their way. New helmet in a couple of days! First troop this Friday! w00t!
  9. Just want to get your guys opinions. Just waiting on my TK Boots and the actual clips for the thermal detonator. https://picasaweb.google.com/101841473479732427661/TK?authuser=0&feat=directlink Let me know if there is a problem with the link!
  10. Ok here are some pictures I just put a bunch in an album. Feel free to make other suggestions as well. Thanks guys appreciate the help. Yes I have the Elvis boots they came with the armor I didn't pay for them I am on the waiting list for TK Boots. ---------
  11. Ok So I am looking around and whatnot and I am noticing that my thigh pieces are rather wide and I think I attached the power pack to the knee a little too high. It is even with the bottom of the thigh piece. My calf pieces don't have that sharp defined look to them and slope rather than have an angle at the top. I think I need to replace them. I bought the kit on Ebay (strike 1) I didn't know this place existed (strike 2) I am not looking to get strike 3 by fraking up anything else. Here is a picture I currently have. No other pics are available right now because I am out to sea. Should I replace them? How much would it cost? It is an fx kit and it is ABS. After finding this place I really tried to make the best with what I have. As far as the other details of the armor are concerned: I have added white straps to drop boxes and have added black straps to shoulder bells. Going to cut the width of the belt down this weekend when I get back.
  12. Ebay Helmet: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Star-Wars-Stormtrooper-Helmet-1-1-Fibreglass-prop-/370545638249?pt=UK_Collectables_SciFi_fantasyCollectables_EH&hash=item56463dbb69

  14. I used some rivets on the front to attach to the ab plate to an extension that I cut down in width. Then riveted the kidney plate (to nothing) and then placed velcro on it. That helped to keep it nice and snug.
  15. My completed TK costume. Had to adjust the velcro on the shoulder bells to make them sit right. Placed foam blocks to help hold the thigh pieces and forearm greeves in place. I still have to add the velcro straps on the inside of the shoulder bells. It squeaks alot when I walk because of the shoes. The shoes are a little wide at the ankle so it rubs the calf armor. Just waiting on my helmet to get back from a friend I made here on FISD, gloves, and my neck seal to come and this ladies and gentlemen will be complete. Finished the Thermal Detonator today. Oh yea I need to get an E-11 Blaster. Whoo! This has been a fun project! This is my first build so don't go nuclear on me. Please.
  16. I was looking to buy a helmet from this guy. Whats is wrong with it and what are HIPS?
