  1. i am going for an ANH look...anyone got a pic on how to put it on? thanks
  2. Hi all, Wondering about neck trim of the helmet. Did you glue yours and if so what kind of glue did you use to that end? I got the S rubber version but i am also not quite sure how to fi it on the helmet since there are 2 ways you could fix it to the helmet...what would be the right way? thanks
  3. Mike is the expert at many things and his videos prove it. If you are new ask him where his videos are and you will make helmets like a master after. now that being said..here is a few video suggestions for Mike. - how to repairs tears. - how to properly use novus to prep your helmet or buff your helmet. i ll think of some more later... Thanks Mike.
  4. which kit did you prefer out of the one you have there?
  5. well hopefully i ll manage to do this properly. thanks all.
  6. How big would you say your entry area is Noel? i am guessing barely able to get your head in....which is kinda scary.... that is real odd since i am seeing a rivet in line with the tear and another one going under the helmet which to me locks the helmet into place you would not be able to pivot the brow up and down if the bottom rivet is there unless the guys broke the rivets at the bottom...that is the only way to be able to do this but what would be the point of doing something dumb like that....
  7. here it is odd some days are real humid and some are dry..i guess i will have to wait on the painting part...grrr.... i have bought krylon primer and krylon kakhi camo paint plus i have krylon white semi gloss and krylon white ivory... i may have to wait until end of may to paint the helmet... boooooooo
  8. mm i wonder how they fixed that problem with the move along helmet then...trim the cap higher to raise the brow to keep the hole size ok? because everything depends on the pivet point of the rivet so my guess is that the faceplate was put real near the edge of the cap to try to keep the helmet entry hole big enough.... and if you look at the helmet on starwars helmet.comn the dude could raise the brow no problem...
  9. Hi guys, What would be your recommendation on the best time or temperature to paint? I have to paint outside but there is snow outside here. The good sunshine days start only around May and the real hot days are in June and July around here. I have to paint outside so going from experience what kind of temperature are you looking for.... thanks
  10. Hi all, I was wondering if there is a way to avoid making your helmet bottom entry too small to put on. I am preparing mine and I am going to assemble the cap and back to the face plate. But now my greatest fear is to make the entry opening of the helmet too small. I donĆ¢ā‚¬ā„¢t want to drill too many holes in the helmet. I have seen all the great tutorials on the site on how to assemble helmets but I was wondering if there is some kind of trick to make sure the bottom of the faceplate is not too far back or too much in the front. I know how to adjust the top portion of the helmet with the clamps and such but what about the bottom part? How close would you bring the back edge of the face plate to the edge of you cap and back? Tips, explanations, info welcomed. thanks
  11. Hi all, would anyone know how to create runny paint? also some helmet have some type of run like someone dropped some type of paint thinner on the helmet and it made a running drip along the helmet that removed a layer of paint, how would you do that?
  12. the guys cutting the eyes out sure had a way to almost cut them the same way all the time though which can lend to some helmet looking the same...
  13. look at the Simon helmet, especially the cut of the eyes...then look at this.. Grab your movie and freeze it when the move along soldier talks, there is a corporal besides him... since that corporal is a sandtrooper and apparently the suit is a sandtrooper one...maybe it is a match...at least the eyes do...the rest does differ a bit tough... did anyone get info as to see if the suit was in the movie?
  14. I meant, is it like for "metal" "cement" or other kinds.... Sometimes if you choose the wrong type it may break plastic....
  15. Thanks Mike. I received your neck trim. -------- Feelin it!!!!! Move along Phase 1.....frown almost done...little tweaks to be done.... P.S what type of drill bit did you use? any particular type?
