  1. A little late, almost too late. Last night was the last showing they had at the local theater for Rogue One. I had promised my cousin I would see it with him, we've seen all the star wars movies in theaters since ROTJ in 83. Had to keep the tradition going although is work wasn't cooperating much. I loved it from start to finish. Getting to see all the classic Imperials and Rebels from when I was a kid again was just awesome. I am totally blown away by how good Tarkin was done, and how big of a part he had in the movie. The only thing I would really change would have been at the end on the Tantive IV, closed it out with view behind R2-D2 and C-3PO and that other protocol droid walking down the hallway together. One good thing about RO if nothing else. I think it finally puts an end to the age old O2 tank/Thermal detonator debate. It's clearly not a thermal detonator.
  2. Thanks for correcting me on that. Glad to know they kept some of the ANH suits.
  3. From my understanding, from some of the EA/Dice interviews about Battlefront, the ROTJ armor is the only armor still in the archives. So it makes sense when these game companies needed a suit to get references of that is all they had to go on.Another example of that is the special edition sandtrooper backpacks in Battlefront, LFL doesn't have the old ANH backpacks so that is all EA/Dice had to use for reference.
  4. Somewhat related to this, Hasbro just announced today that Amazon will be getting an exclusive Shadow Trooper helmet, same as the Rogue One Stormtrooper helmet. Details about it posted here along with some pictures. http://www.rebelscum.com/story/front/Hasbro_Officially_Announces_Rogue_One_Retail_Exclusives_170745.asp STAR WARS: THE BLACK SERIES SHADOW TROOPER HELMET (Ages 5 years & up/Approx. Suggested Retail Price: $79.99/Available: Fall 2016) Disguise your voice like the shadow warrior from ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY! Intimidate the Rebel Alliance with mirrored lenses and an exclusive black SHADOW TROOPER deco. 5. Wow, I'm kinda surprised Hasbro put the speaker vents in the back like that, as well as the battery compartment. Nothing that can't be fixed, but still its odd that the placement is so different from their previous helmets. Still going to get one though.

    Rogue One

Read about it on a couple of the collecting sites, the one I linked to up there even has pictures of it.

    Rogue One

Can add Hasbro to that list now too, http://www.jeditemplearchives.com/content/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=18421 Hasbro is making a, supposedly, full size Rogue One Stormtrooper helmet with electronics, much like their Kylo Ren helmet last year. Rumored they are also making Deathtrooper helmet too.
  8. They certainly used the droid caller as a base for it. Just changed some details. I guess it's more like the difference between a DH-17 and an E-11. edit: after looking at some more pictures, It's appears to be based more on Luke's droid caller than Han's.
  9. Game mechanics like Battlefront 1 and 2 are hardly anything to go from. They used the same model for a thermal det in those games as Leia had in ROTJ. Same goes for EA's Battlefront. Heck EA's Battlefront uses Han's droid caller as an ion grenade. So yeah some liberties have been taken. Only Star Wars Galaxies used the actual canister as a thrown explosive device. The Stormtrooper thermal det first appeared in the old Visual Guide book, where they basically spun a bottle and picked names out of a hat to make the book more interesting. It ballooned after that. I had read somewhere, many years ago in my youth that the tank was based on an old gas mask canister. Also that Clone Wars episode where the clone's canisters blow up, sure we can assume they are thermal dets but they could have just as easily been an o2 tank. They were thrown down a turbo lift that was on fire. The fire could of set them off. But none of that matters now since in the new canon, Star Wars Rebels has confirmed them to be N-20 Baradium-core thermal detonators. Which makes zero sense, seeing as how they were never used on screen as an explosive device. But that's what they are now officially.
  10. Don't forget Swamptroopers and perhaps the best one of all, Radtrooper! their totally radical! Atleast Space and Sea aren't canon anymore, and maybe Magma. Well the old RPG book version of Magmatroopers anyhow. I guess Battlefront's may be. Snowtroopers and Sandtroopers are never called by name in the movies, So we can assume they could just be slang. But they do atleast make a degree of sense in a way. The name implies a specialization in certain environments. But Shore ? Not so much. I assume maybe they were going for a Marine Corps type of analogy for a specialized first wave assault trooper. But then Stormtroopers are already the Marine Corps of the Empire. Well that is if the Imperial Army still exists in the new canon otherwise the Storm Corps is it for Imperial ground forces. I'm sure it'll make more sense to me once I see the movie, but until then I'm not really liking the name. But I do like the Troopers. edit: Well I was wrong, Seatroopers are canon again. They make an appearance in one of the tie-in novels for the Star Wars Rebels cartoon. I guess they're not called Aquatic troopers anymore either. I kinda liked that, atleast better than Seatrooper lol.
  11. Shoretrooper has to be one of the lamest names they've ever came up with. Might as well called it a beachtrooper. very disappointed with the name. such a cool looking new Trooper, such a lame name.
  12. That is awesome, very well done! makes me want to play some Battlefront!
  13. I sure am curious to find out more about the AT-AT's and their crew. I also want to see some hot TIE on X-Wing action too lol. and find out more about the Trooper on that hover tank. I wonder if hes Imperial Army.
  14. It's freaking beautiful. I loved episode 7, not bashing it, but this...this looks like "my" Star Wars. Classic Stormies, old school X-Wings, the old uniforms and gear. The old sounds, I might be more excited to see this than I was for ep 7. I feel bad saying that lol. Watching that trailer feels almost like taking a trip back in time to being a kid again in the 80's.
  15. that looks awesome, can't wait til tomorrow! Is it just me or does that helmet look like it has a "mask" fitted over it ? Makes me wonder if the normal Stormie is underneath.
  16. I totally forgot to reply and thank you. I had overlooked it for that very reason
  17. really ? well crap I didn't get a neckseal with mine.
  18. ANH all the way for me, it's just a classic look and I love how nice and shiny the armor looks in the movie. The details on the armor, and like whitenight mentioned the handguards. ANH hands down (no pun intended) has the best looking handguards of all three classic armors. Although since CFO came out I've seen alot of good ROTJ builds and that armor is growing on me. But ANH is the classic and if I can only have one set, thats the one.
  19. you guys are lucky! I don't know when mine will arrive. Considering we've got 27 inches of snow and the interstate is closed down and I think the main roads as well. It may be a while. all this snow maybe I should of gotten snow trooper armor instead lol.
  20. AA deserves about as much credit as a photocopier machine. They both do the same job, making copies.
  21. If Battlefront 2 could have Hoth Luke in a Pilot flight suit, and Endor Luke in the black jedi garb then this Battlefront can do the same. If they don't have it fixed by launch then it is just lazy devs. Most likely the battles won't even have any story or really adhere strickly to the timeline. It's just that location, it's all about the multiplayer combat and a mess of all the OT Rebels and Imperials and some made up crap to fill out the different classes of Troops. The only story it looks like the game may have is in the co-op missions, which doesn't look like much story. It pretty much just hold off X number of waves of bad guys for X amount of time.
  22. What do you guys think ? I don't know the armor well enough to tell, but the helmet at least looks a Sandy. edit: almost forgot, new video as well came out today. It looks good, although why is ROTJ Luke on Hoth... yet another edit: I guess all the Sandtroopers are Sergeants or Officers, still though it looks awesome. I just hope they have Imperial missions and not just rebel missions. Not too crazy about the Shock Troopers, Stormtroopers aren't Republic era Clone Troopers. They don't have fancy stripes on thier armor.
  23. doh! I missed the the part where they mentioned force unleashed. sorry
  24. I don't think those pictures are from the new Battlefront, that looks like the Force Unleashed 2.
  25. Yeah don't worry about what he has on his desk, they scanned the actual movie props for the game models. From Stormtrooper armor to the AT-ST models, everything is copied from the actual props. They've had other videos showing thier offices and most of the staff seems to have thier desks full of star wars toys and other star wars collectiables. They even mentioned it was on purpose to help get and keep everyone in a star wars frame of mind.
