  1. While watching some of EP 7 last night, I noticed that the E-11 barrel is used for the Resistance Freighter weapon(s). Sneaky.... ----------------
  2. Gave the inside a wash with mild detergant and rinsed. Problem solved!!! Back on track, thanks everyone. See you at Dragoncon
  3. Ok, I just wanted to make sure it wasnt some major step I had ignored. I would prefer not to attach the velcro with adhesive so I have a bit more flexibilty to relocate stuff. I will if I have to though I will reply with the outcome. Cheers. Carry on Troopers
  4. Hi all, Something that I have just encountered thats a bit frustrating. I am building a new ABS kit from ATA. While transferring my electronics (amp, sound board, fans and batteries etc) into my new bucket, I have discovered that nothing will adhere to the inside of the ABS. I normally use the heavy duty adhesive Velcro or a combination of normal Velcro and industrial double sided tape, none of which stick. Anyone else seen this or am i missing something here? Any ideas for a solution would be great. I prefer not to glue in the parts but will at a last resort. cheers lads.
  5. Our equipment sees way more use. My recently retired set of armour looks like it has 30 years on it already lol.
  6. Interesting solution there. Thanks for input Steffen.
  7. Good morning fellow troopers!! I havent posted here in quite a while, although i do lurk from time to time Anyway, I've been deep in the middle of building my second ATA kit (ABS) and was curious about the visible snaps placed on the butt plate and the right side of the ab plate. I was thinking about this method for a touch of screen accuracy but I am concerned about long term wear or damage if the snap is installed directly into the ABS. I was thinking about reinforcement on the inside..... Is this a consideration? cheers.
  8. Its been a while since I've been on this forum and dont recall seeing this before. Why, oh why did I click play......
  9. Magnets strategically placed on the inside of the ab plate and back of the belt will fix slippage. It was one of the biggest issues I had when I started.
  10. Ill be there... Will this be a repeat of the march through the convention center... escalator and all?
  11. Hey all, I have finally added the last part of my T21 documentation to my blog. Here are the links to posts: Part 1 http://tk3199.wordpr...r-rifle-part-1 Part 2 http://tk3199.wordpr...r-rifle-part-2 Part 3 http://tk3199.wordpr...r-rifle-part-3 Part 4 http://tk3199.wordpr...r-rifle-part-4 [/background] As I mentioned before thanks to PandaTrooper for the guidelines on this. Mine is already getting beaten up, just after a few troops lol. cheers
  12. As promised. Not sure why glue is looking opaque, maybe the flash. Hope you work out a solution and if you do let us know -----------
  13. Calling the mic tips with built in speakers rubbish is a bit harsh, especially as people take the time to put this stuff together and make it available to us all. Its amazing how many options we have thanks to peoples dedication and ingenuity. It all depends on what the user wants. I am not interested in wires and chest or belt mounted equipment so I use 501st creations hovi tip speakers with the RomFX sound board and I have never had any issues with loudness or feedback. You just gotta take some time installing them and sealing off to avoid feedback. I like the mod above and may give that a try down the road though.....with next set of armor
  14. I have prescription lenses installed in my helmet which i took from my old set of glasses. Figure out where they go in relation to you eyes and use hot glue but use the kind that dry's clear and you do not need much to hold them in. Mount them directly to the bucket lenses (dunno about bubble kinds though) You cannot see them from the outside either and as far as the prescription changing, don't worry about it. Unless your sight radically changes just make do with a weaker prescription. If you get new glasses just rotate the old lenses to the helmet. My Helmet is an ATA so the installed lenses sit in almost the same position as glasses do. Works great. In 18 months I have only redone the glue once. I will snap photo or two after work and post them up this evening.
  15. No plans for FX. I also didn't opt for the barrel to be removable so its rock solid. yes thats standard drain field pipe from any Hardware store cut down to correct diameter.
  16. Been working on this since the spring and finally wrapped it up.....Just in time for Dragon*Con. I have documented the entire thing and will be posting to my web site soon. At some point I will acquire some pouches and a backpack for "Heavy Weapons Trooper" readiness. FYI for anyone interested; I have actually built 2 of these T21's and will complete the paint on the second one in the next couple of weeks. It is almost identical with a few minor differences. It will be for sale once done.
  17. Wow..thanks for that mate. Writing is NOT my strong suit at all....at least I thought 8-0
  18. It is too hot in here....

  19. More updates on my page - Please feel free to drop in.
  20. Hi All, Thought it was time to share this with the FISD. After almost 18 months involved in the TK project and the 501st, I decided it was time to create a blog site to add to the wealth of knowledge out there. It is all my build info and and diary of the troops I have done. I still have more stuff to add and this will happen daily until I am up to date at least. I am trying to keep the build posts very simple and more of an overview. Just my way of saying thanks to everyone that has posted a thread, pic or anything else that pointed myself in the right direction. http://tk3199.wordpress.com/ Cheers
  21. LOL.....i am facing the same issue and this is looking like my answer. Of coarse thats after I buy a new shiny white ABS kit from ATA
  22. ahh brilliant. Dunno why I didnt even think about looking on the "Main" web site lol. Cheers
  23. Hi everyone, Couple of questions to clarify if I may. 1. Is any back pad typically used by TD expectable for use a HWT? 2. I have begun work on a T21. Is this also ideal for a HWT? I already know i will buying another set of Trooper armor at some point and my current will be made full on TD but I would like to get as many things cross compatible between a TD and HWT as possible. Thanks i advance for the input. Brad
  24. Sorry I just seen this. The scope i modded with a few electric conduit fittings from lowes and some clear plastic (from packaging). I took a few liberties obviously, but i had to to something to make it less toy like. I also found a decal on line to install in the site. Wish I used black instead of white back ground now tho.... Seems to be holding up quite well to date....
