  1. Well done, mate. Nice build!
  2. I suppose I could do. At the moment I'm using hot glue which is only semi-permanent as it is. But I did consider a solution with velcro or something similar.
  3. The deed is done. It's not a massively noticeable change but this will eventually mean I have to get the wood stain out and make my suit a replica of our friend with the flat lenses. Can't see any clean Death Star troopers with flat lenses. Been doing a bit more work on the armour ... -Added some more strapping to the torso to keep it tight at the sides -Glued the shoulder straps at the front - Am currently trying to get the right curve into the biceps and forearms ....
  4. They look great but I can't see a thing through them. A quick swap for events might be the remedy. Either that or in the end I do an Endor weathering job and a full-on replica of this trooper ...
  5. A quick suit-up today with the full armour. Observations: 1. There’s really no way I can troop with bubble lenses. Going to have to go for flat ones if I take this armour out to events. 2. The legs fit me like a glove. I can walk incredibly freely. 3. The shoulder straps are a pain in the bum. Need to glue them at the front. Velcro at the back and front is not secure enough. 4. I need to add some internal strapping inside the torso towards the bottom. The top sits really nicely but the bottom flaps about a bit. Nothing a couple more connections up and down the torso won’t solve. 5. The biceps and forearms need to be reshaped with a gentle bit of heating. The curve is too pronounced in the wrong direction and the biceps twist towards the front as a result. A bit of hot water and gentle squeezing I think ... 6. Might look at my belt assembly. Could do with the plastic belt material being a bit snugger on the material part. 7. Need to secure the foam inside the helmet and need a chin strap. Bit of tilting going on at the moment. In general, just a few tweaks away from a very nice and surprisingly comfortable suit. Quite pleased with it so far.
  6. Casts schmasts ... Stay on target, chaps! Anybody have any evidence of screen-used ROTJ blasters which had an open hole and cocking lever? Or were did they all have a sealed hole and no cocking lever?
  7. Open question for all ... Is there any evidence of blasters used for ROTJ which did not have the elongated barrel hole sealed? The MGC base still has the open hole with visible spring and cocking lever but all the blasters I can see in screen caps look like they had the hole sealed up, like this ... I just ask because the replica I've had made has an open hole and cocking lever. At the moment I'm leaning towards closing up the hole with a section of PVC pipe.
  8. Wow! Superb reference photo. I think we left the ears a bit thicker at the back. We pretty much used the photos of your original helmet as a guide but had to use screen caps of other helmets for the back becasue I only had front view shots! Very happy with the fit of the ears in the end though. They sit really happily in place. A little bit of gap here and there but all "screen accurate" kind of levels.
  9. I tried to copy Joe's original helmet as close as possible. I probably ended up being extra careful and cuttign less though.
  10. Yay! My ROTJ blaster should be here very soon too so I should be able to get this costume completed and cleared over the next few weeks.
  11. Silly @rse! Yeah, I looked at all my indoor trooper screen caps and decided the round frowns were prominent.
  12. Tell the decals supplier that I'm ready when he is! This is one sexy helmet!
  13. Yes, I made Dennis wear a leather bikini and I chained him to a huge slug-like creature for most of the day!
  14. Those are the CfO lenses. In the end they just looked so much better than mine and I can just about see enough through them.
  15. Back in business today ... I had the help of this feller ... And, with Dennis having already put together a CfO helmet, it was a great help having him to lend a hand. I have to say though that the CfO helmet is a dream to put together. It's definitely the crowning glory of the armour kit. To say the armour is "nothing special" would be wrong because it's great but the helmet is the real highlight of the package. It has a really short and still clear history, has been cast directly and capably from an original helmet and it tells. Really easy to put together and looks great. Here are some progress pictures ... We got the ears on in the end too. Just got to spray the mic tips and paint the helmet details and wait for the decal supplier to get his act together. Dennis took a few more pictures of the helmet as we left it today, for now I've jut got this one of the silly sod modelling it ... It's a stunning helmet, I was really happy with the results. A very satisfying day's work!
  16. If it's for a sale (and you don't have a commissioned build), do the Endor trooper. The weathering on the last one was superb. There are some grimier lookign suits in the film though if you fancy really going to town with it.
  17. The SE Sandtrooper or is this another one?
  18. Believe me, chaps, I've been over the finer detail of the Centurion requirements with Luis with a fine-tooth comb. Get ready with your congratulations!
  19. Keep us posted. I might be interested in an end cap at some point if it looks like I have to/can change mine. It would be worth getting in touch with Kai too. He does a lot of blaster building and I think he's been on the look-out for an MGC but hasn't found one yet. I'm sure he'd be interested in updating his ROTJ E-11 further, i.e. swappign the few sterling parts that he still uses, so a realiable supplier for cast parts will be useful.
  20. Sam, As is clear from the lack of replies, the market for ROTJ stuff is much smaller than ANH and ESB. That said, there will be a corner of the market with blaster builders looking for this stuff. As I mentioned, I'm having an E-11 built for my CfO armour. I'm aware that a few of the parts are not MGC-derived (i.e. they're from a genuine Sterling) and thus not 100% correct. One of those is the end cap. So there's probably some demand. You will know Kai (MyLaw4U) from JRS. He's building my blaster. I'm sure he'd be interested in MGC end caps, mag holders and handles for upgrading his ROTJ design.
  21. Received my replacement face plate and the missing biceps parts so I'm back in business. I should be able to get this finished this week or at the weekend. Cheers, Mark!

  23. Nice build. Congratulations!
  24. Enhorabuena, compañero!
  25. Hi Luis, I think the centurion requirements recognise that certain armour types (notably AP) are very thick and robust and thus it's very hard to attach this piece with just glue. So, it's listed in the requirements as prefereable but not an absolute requirement. Rivets are not ideal but are permitted.
