  1. GF, he sculpted the original FX kit, and later on sold TE derivatives in a deal he made with TE back in the day. One of the first guys to sell TK kits. He went on to sell his moulds to AP  I think. He was also as far as I know the only maker to get a cease and desist order from LFL.

  2. I'm all for blaster accuracy, but I'm opposed to a new set of CRL's and awards.

Blaster accuracy is inherent in EIB and Centurion. And for those that value accuracy and have the means to go above and beyond, they will do so regardless of any awards. Let those who know appreciate it for themselves.

My personal trooping E-11 is all metal, a mix of aluminium and steel with a (un-)folding stock, moving trigger, safety selector, charging handle, etc, and disassembles like the real deal. I don't need an award for that. I know it's a good blaster, and so does everyone who sees it.

"should be black" rather than painted black. I am lead to believe the originals where japanned rather than painted, this shouldn't be prohibited by the wording.

"Ear screws shall be slotted, flat topped, counter sync and painted white."

In that case you might as well require the ear screws to be brass painted white if you're going to require RD screws to be anodised black. But I feel that's going overboard.

  4. At the end of the day, approval for 501st membership comes down to the GML, who more often than not are not members of FISD and they judge costumes by their own heart and the CRL. The CRL tries to be balanced between accurate and uniform across the whole club. That also goes for the higher levels, although those emphasise accuracy, uniformity is still key.

That being said, sometimes our members here do go a bit overboard with what they think should be "required". I think a lot of us are guilty of that, myself included. The key think to remember is that most of us have no real influence on who's approved and not.

Personally I don't have any issue at all about the amount of teeth cut out of a helmet as long as it's done for the right reasons, like having studied real helmets and choosing to emulate a specific one due to personal preference.

  5. Hello everyone!

We on staff have decided to require the corners of the TK knee belt on applicable variations of the costume to be squared on the top, and rounded on the bottom corner, as most of us have already taken for granted, since it's quite obvious from looking at screen captures. So we hope that this change is a non-issue for most of you, and an easy fix for anyone who've missed it.

Our gallery highlighting this detail is over 5 years old by now, so we think it's about time to put it to print.

Is this a site to be avoided? Any issues with their armor with quality, fit, build issues?

Yes you should avoid them. While they aren't on the 1st page here yet, it's generally easier to white list the good vendors, than it is to black list the bad ones. The people on the 1st page are there for being particularly bad. But if a vendor isn't on the recommended vendors list, it's usually best to steer clear of them.
