Plastic welder from Devon should be fine, very similar to the JB weld

Thanks to everyone on the Pre- getting my armor kit advice! I FINALLY got my WTF TK armor kit after waiting since mid-February and will have a lot of advice questions during this process as I will be building with the goal of obtaining Centurian (I am a perfectionist on everything I do - it's a curse!) I am a Lancer level ROTJ Biker Scout so this will be my second build. I have read through all the suggested build threads recommended and got a lot of nice info from those! I have too many other projects and not enough free time, so forgive the large gaps between posts - Thanks, I look forward to sharing and learning throughout this experience!!

Yeah I agree that the wedge makes it stick out a ton. I'll play with positioning before deciding. I also think I could use *just* the wedge and it'd look fine. I appreciate the offer of the mount - I think at worst I'm fine with my printed one so I don't think I will need yours.

I went ahead and tinkcercad-ed a simple holster mount. If i were smart I would have put the screw holes in as well, but alas.

Finished the chest... finally! Of course, I forgot to add the white rectangle in the lower gray part, but that's sitting on my workbench. Just need to glue it on. Test fit with flight suit and abs... Fits really well! It's actually kind of comforting with the abs (like a cool hug). Noticed that there's NOT much ability to move around. Now I know why most actors are so rigid :-D Unfortunately, have to redo the shins since, during fit test, discovered the shins didn't fit over the shoes when the seam in the shins split bad. Note: If you are gluing pieces together, reinforce the seam somehow! No worries... used Francios' shin design to reprint as a one-piece shin.

Hopefully the first photo is prior to setting the snaps I use a guide made out of plastic for hole position, it's great to keep them a common size then you can swap out with others if any stretch over time. Try to attach your snap plates closer to the ends of the armor, you won't need as much elastic then and also it will keep the pieces together better, with large gaps they can push backwards. Or this can happen You can leave some return edges on most of your armor pieces.

Devcon works great, it's shapeable and paintable

Personally I would use something a little stronger, some harder setting glue like an epoxy ( or JB Weld or Devcon) and a piece of plastic behind, this should prevent further cracking

So as I alluded to a few posts back, I was happy about the chest and back sizing, but now quite unhappy about the helmet size. It somehow doesn't show as much in photos, but in person I felt like a FOTK Funko pop. I really really didn't want to have to print the helmet, but seeing how amazing @zediyeti looked made me finally bite the bullet. Like Zediyeti I sized my helmet to 92%, but I had to slice it into parts due to my smaller printer bed. Each part took 12-ish hours. 1) Top. I used a support blocker under the dome, but you can see how a bunch of supports are needed under the brow. Concerned about the finish, I decided to use PLA as the support interface, and it worked amazingly. The black is PLA: The brow surface: 2) Bottom rear. I was a little too aggressive with support blocking which caused some artifacts near the edges but nothing unfixable: 3) Bottom front: And a size comparison with the Anovos: It is certainly going to be a chore to finish the helmet, but I didn't see a better path forward. It's possible I could have been approved with the Anovos helmet but I know it would have just driven me up the wall every time I looked at it.

Ahem. tap tap tap... Is this thing on? Ummm... well it's 2025 now and I still haven't finished this costume, but I have had fits and bursts of activity on it as I go through the rollercoaster of highs of "I can do this!" and lows of "THIS COSTUME CANNOT BE MADE TO FIT SMALL PEOPLE." Most recently, I got re-inspired by @zediyeti's incredible 3D printed build. I acquired a Bambu X1C last year and actually did already start working on 3D printing some of the parts to fit me, so it was really inspiring to see Zediyeti's completely 3D printed and incredible-looking build. I'm going to go ahead and try to recap my periods of progress over the past almost-7 years.
