Blaze Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 so it can be a A New Hope or Return of the Jedi depending on how you paint it? Quote
Runnriottt Posted August 25, 2009 Author Report Posted August 25, 2009 ANH. The ROTJ is really a different lid all together. More squished looking. You might pull it off in assembly to get a ROTJ look. More than paint is required basically. Quote
krudler Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 Is there much involved in putting one of these together? total newbie at this and am deciding whether to go with a kit and put it together or go down the MR or FX route (am still trying to figure out the abbreviations for everything lol ) and get it already assembled Quote
krudler Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 And another complete noob question, where do you get an ATA helmet? ebay? or does someone on here sell them? Quote

krudler Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 Ok I think ATA is the way to go, does it work just as well with decals or is painting the way to go? This will be my first stab at this so I might take the easy route if possible as I dont have much experience with painting, not since as a kid anyway Quote
runewolf Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 It is HIPs plastic, so it is not glossy. I'll be painting my entire suit, but for the details on the helmet, I'll be getting the decals. I'm sure I can paint the vocoder and the frown, but the lines in the traps are going to be tough, so they get the decals Quote
krudler Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 Does anyone know if the Tk-4510 decals will fit an ATA helmet? or are there others that would suit it better? so many options.... Quote
Runnriottt Posted August 28, 2009 Author Report Posted August 28, 2009 Thems the decals on my lid in the pic above... Quote
krudler Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 Great What would a total noob be looking at to invest in to get a helmet built? there's a games workshop nearby that I can get paint and knives for cutting it with, sandpaper is no issue, I think my local B&Q would have screen material for the frown, I'm looking forward to all this, must be hugely satisfying to assemble something rather than just buy a mass produced one Quote
