Sonnenschein
Is it possible to make an ROTJ bucket out of an ANH kit, like using a heat gun to get the sqished look? Has somebody succesfully tried it? An ROTJ style painted helmet doesn't look right... Regards, Karin
Amish Trooper
I have never seen one but would be interesting to see if it could be done
Sonnenschein
I have never seen one but would be interesting to see if it could be done I think a good start would be a side by side comparison to point out the extent of the "recasting accident" which resulted in the famous "squished" look. My eye is still too untrained. Maybe one our our "real" experts could give some starters? Can I dream of some authentic looking ROTJ helmts made out of an AP or TE kit, using my hair dryer? JoeR
Keith did a Jedi helmet from an ANH kit. He posted pictures on the RPF, might be worth looking there. It is totally possible, you just need to heat and manipulate the plastic in certain areas. Joe
Sonnenschein
Thanks Joe, found the pics on the RPF! Cool looking bucket! Keith mentiond, that it really was a "BIG job" I'd really love to know which areas to manipulate. Still need to train my eyes to pinpoint those differences. Chewcy
I have one of Keiths ROTJ lids made from an ANH kit, it looks spot on, but he also said it was a lot of work as well.
