What kind of screen accurate gloves is everyone using?

Figured I’d ask since I’m having a bit of difficulty finding some cloth gloves I feel are suitable and screen accurate. What’s every one using for cloth gloves? Where is there a good place to find them? Might anyone know or have a clear photo of what the originals looked like to know exactly what type to look for and what they should ideally look like for screen accuracy sake? Thank you!

Many use silk gloves, I have similar to these

Gloves Black in color, made of either rubber, nomex, leather, or leather-like material, with no visible straps or logos/designs. The fingers are enclosed.

OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Gloves must be either black silk, satin, nylon, or silk-like material, or gloves must be rubber or rubber-like chemical gloves, in black

Thank you for the link! I had used Amazon with no success other than gloves with all these weird designs and finger pads and such on them. Those looks perfect!

 

If you don’t mind me asking, were rubber gloves actually used in ESB? So far all references (apart from the CRL) I’ve seen are seemingly cloth gloves.

 

Also, I’m aware that for Level 2 certification I’d need to drill holes into the hand plates but I also saw some reference photos in the gallery showing the hand plates in the carbon freezing scene shown up close with no stitch holes (presumably this would mean they’re “hero” hand plates?). Presumably that would not pass for Level 2 Certification as it was only seemingly for one scene nor is it mentioned in the CRL?

Yes both rubber and silk gloves had been used, some in the same scenes. the "hero" handplates would have been with rubber gloves.

Hanplates with rubber gloves are not drilled, just have an elastic strap over the palm. Handplates with silk gloves are drilled and sewn. You can use either combination for L2

 

OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable):

• If rubber gloves are worn the hand plates will be affixed via an elastic strap over the palm. No stitching/holes are permitted.
• If silk or satin gloves are worn, the hand plates have the correct visible stitching with a 5 point/star pattern, equally spread out with 2 on each side and 1 in the middle front, double stitched with 2 holes at each point and sewn to the glove at each one using black thread.

You can use either glove/handplate combination

Great! I think I’ll actually go with that then is that’s the case. Don’t think cloth gloves will as good as a grip as rubber gloves.

 

Last time I was active on this site was pre 2020. If you don’t mind me also asking, any chance that staff debate may have been public or is there somewhere to read through it?

Unfortunately it's in a staff area so we can't share. Basically it was just a discussion identifying each version and when it was seen, as well as amounts of holes and stitches in gloves, the CRL was updated just afterwoods.
