Lan-Ed-Tul[TK] Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 wondered what to do to remove the old FX large black tube stripes off a FX lid. i got a set of correct smaller sized blue stripes, but i dont know how to remove the old ones off it. any help would be appreciated. thanks. Quote
Smitty Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 slide a razor blade under the edge and peel them off one by one. Then use Mr Clean magic eraser on the adhesive marks till they are all gone. Then apply your new decals. Let the adhesive cure over night and then use Novus on those areas till the white is all shiney again. Its requires a bit of elbow grease but the results are worth it. Quote
TK6631[501st] Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 I used a product called RemoveZit - it works wonders, just take a small bit on a cloth and gently work it over the tube stripes and they will come off in about 5mins with no effort (just be carefull as that stuff REALLY shifts paint from plastic) Quote
