Hi guys (I hope this is the right place to post this)

ive recently started a stormtrooper build, not going for screen accuracy, just a nice looking suit for mannequin display

Question 1 of no doubt many
The kidney plate is a different curvature to the back plate.. probably to allow for to bigger guys.
I want it the same as the back plate as that fits well

I was thinking hair dryer/gentle heat gun and then eyeball it and then trim to fit
Anyone got any better ideas ?
Thanks

Definitely not heat gun unless you are skilled using one, it will be hard to control.

Hair dryer will do but very time consuming. The other common practice is a “hot water bath”, but do test it with a piece of scrap plastic first from your kit to see how the plastic will react.

thanks  for the reply, I had thought about hot water.. might try that first as I definitely wouldn’t say I was skilled with a heat gun :)

Once you connect the two sections they generally pull each other in alignment.

I’m thinking I might try this

dont want to wreck it but the mannequin I’m using is a pretty slim dude... might have to fatten him up a little

I’ve been trawling through screenshots from the movie to get an idea of how the parts orient with one another and jeez, upon close inspection, that screen armour was pretty shaky :)
