Jezza's ATA Sandtrooper - Another Commission Build

Round two this is the second kit that Jerry purchased from Russell, Jerry has decided he would like to add a Sandtrooper to his arsenal.

Let the trimming begin



Sand off all the rough edges



Same as the last build we will need to add some shims to the kidney

First the backing plate



Checking shim for gaps



Apply the JB weld and clamp and magnet in place



Cut cover strips



Front cover strips applied, now to wait for the glue to dry

Day 2

 

Added rear cover strips as well as calve Velcro



Shims are dry, cut a V into the join so the abs paste has more to grip too



Add the abs paste



A few snaps added

 

Now to wait for glue to dry yet again

Side rivet placement



Cod butt plate rivet/snaps



More snap plates glued





Calve closures and inner cover strips added



Inner cover strips on one side of thighs, forearms and biceps





Inner strapping made, snaps added



Harness made



Waiting for glue to dry again, must buy more magnets, say that every build

Belt made, snaps attached to belt, plastic section and ab. Incidentally while trying to fit the plastic belt section, I found out that ATA TD plastic belts are a different size to standard TK belts or they where way back in 2011, will have to contact ATA to see if that has been changed.



Last inside cover strips attached, also last of snap plates



Shoulder bell elastic attached



Ab buttons attached



Hand plate elastic attached



Snipe plate diamond backing and spacers glued

Waiting on glue to dry yet again, 100 more magnets ordered

Strapping attached, test fitted and nothing to adjust.

 

Completely forgot to take photos of the finished kit.

Armor now in Jerry's hands to continue with weathering.
