How would these do if stripped and painted white? I was wondering specifically about the sole and the seam on the back

I would check with your GML, in the CRL it does say flat soles so he may not allow them due to the ridges on the soles.

That is what I was worried about. back to the search then.

I did the whole strip and paint thing myself. Worked pretty well. But be aware of how large the opening for your foot is.
Mine was a larger size and I had to shim my shins out to make it work.
