I'm Batman[501st] Posted July 26, 2017 Report Posted July 26, 2017 I've seen a few threads, but not quite the full answer.... I've totally repainted ALL of my armour/helmet due to yellowing. The finish is pretty good, but a little dull. I've heard of a few recommendations NOT to use a clear coat, so I was just going to polish it up. I had the tiniest bit of Novus left over which worked really well, bringing up a nice shine. Can I use regular automotive polish on NO-clear coated spray paint? As long as I use a very light polish? gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted July 26, 2017 Report Posted July 26, 2017 Clear coat will just give some depth to the shine, really depends what paint you use, for my FOTK which has to be painted I used automotive paint which you can either clear coat or not, I do prefer the clear coat finish and easier to buff off scratches. If you don't clear coat the more you buff the paint the thinner it will get. 2 Quote
I'm Batman[501st] Posted July 28, 2017 Author Report Posted July 28, 2017 Thanks Q. No other replies, so I just went with it. Bought the smoothest automotive cream polish and went lightly. Came up nice! Job done 1 Quote
