Hey guys,

Currently I own a MR CE helmet, and I really want to try and install an in-helmet sound setup. I have heard that some speakers called Supertroopers are the best way to go, but I also know that there are other factors for putting a soundsystem in the helmet, spicifically getting the hovis that fit the speakers, and finding an amp that will fit inside the helmet.

I was wondering if anyone has sucessfully assembled an in-helmet sound system, and could instruct me on the best way to do this, and where to get the right / best supplies.

Thanks,

Phil

I posted this earlier, but I had some server error and I guess it never went through...

Has anyone ever thought of making their own amp? It should be simple enough as there are only a few parts.

There is plenty of discussions on the different models and options.

I make a kit that consists of 2 easily aquired parts. A Bolun Wireless mic kit and a voice changer toy from Wal Mart. You mount the wireless mic kit in the helmet and it transmits to the voice changer toy behind the chest plate. I like it because the mic rig is all mounted inside the helmet and there is no wire connecting the helmet to the rest of the armor so for all intents and purposes is all "helmet contained". Another benefit is that the voice changer has a larger speaker and is much louder than trying to use the small speakers inside of the hovi's.

Its in a thread called Wireless Wally in the "How To" section. I show exactly how to build one.
